Trading Experiences - Finds at WDW/DL

It seems to have gotten really bad so suddenly. I am hoping that the boxes will be better during the summer months when all the vacationers will be there en masse. At least that's what I'm hoping for!

Agreed. We found trading at WDW really good for the first half of April then it suddenly got worse. I was doing my bit and putting reasonable ones in the boxes (Holiday 3 and Park 8) but not much good came out!

Ugghhh... enought with all these clearance vinyls already! I'm tempted to just stop trading in the boxes all together. I walked into the Frontierland Tading Co. one time, and a little girl was being showed all of the vinyls in the pouches. All were either window-boxed or rejected. It's just sad. I weep for the olden days of trading.

Not that I need him but the best pull we got today was Yoda, he was at Jackson square(port Orleans French quarter)
I'm hoping to have more luck tomorrow at the trade night, anyone going......?

Trading box was out at dstreet today. I asked the guy to please not give me a lando again lol he said there was only 1 in the box - shocking! Pulled one I already had (argyle), so I traded it for one in the clear box. My friend pulled a squiddy on her turn.

Although I have been only collecting since mid 2010, I too wish trading was back the way it was! I've been back 6 times to WDW and each time it's getting worse than the time before. Just one day I want to trade and get a really awesome figure!

I was at DLR/DCA from 10-1ish? Then Dstreet after that. That would've been funny if we had run into each other and not even had known it!

I hope that all these clearance vinyls are gone over the summer, but i can still see many collectors buying up the cheap ones to take with us on vacation to trade, hopefully with time they will slowly disappear but with these 5 for $10 offers, I'm not surprised the boxes are getting filled with them.

Got a robots 2 from the clear trading box at the Jackson Square store at Port Orleans French Quarter last night, also pulled a couple of star wars in Hollywood Studios.

Which is exactly how it's always been. I'm not trying to pick a fight with anyone, but trading has always - always - been hit or miss. There were fewer open-window vinyls in the boxes, but then "back in the day" they were crowded with Big Babies, Gears, Clears, Park 3s, etc. Trading will always be cyclical, just as it has been since trading started. Today, it's window-box figures, but you don't know who might want those down the line. Look at Clears - once considered not-so-great, now a semi-rare find.

And just to dispel the doom and gloom that all trading must be terrible, I had an okay day the Sunday before yesterday - the people in front of me got a Cast Chaser in Mousegears (picking from one of my usual numbers, no less ). Personally, I went home with a Park 8 Horizons Chef, a CatB Turtle, and a Stormtrooper from Epcot, and I added a HaL Mickey's Garden, a Jr 4 Hippo, and a Jr 5 Thunder and Lightning () from DTD.

I got to Cali adv at 10. Then went to DLR at around 1. And was at Dstreet at about 3!

I'm guessing blind boxing? I know I don't live anywhere near FL so I'm not too up to date on the trading scene but I do read about stuff and not aware of a monorail trading box, I'm sure she means blind boxing

Port Orleans usually has 1 or 2 monorails sitting on the counter to trade

Not sure if this has been discussed. I was at Disney Resort CA all day yesterday and could not find one store using mystery trading boxes. All most stores had were clear cases or a bunch of vinyls inside a basket, case, or Star Wars space ship (at Star Trader).
Has Disney discontinued mystery trade boxes? Most CMs told me the boxes were either broken, havent been used in a long time and another said management discontinued mystery trading because"it just wasnt popular."
Looking for answers if anyone knows the truth.

Tower of Terror has a mystery box, as does Off the Page. I think those are the only two left in the CA Resort, other than the one at D-Street. I hadn't heard anything from anyone there about them before.

Those are the only 2 mystery boxes I know of as well. I never asked because my mystery box trade history has been Lando or green argyle Mickey for me. I never had luck with them, so I stopped trying. I look just for the clear boxes now.

No I didn't mean blind boxing, it was sat in front of the trade box and I asked the cast member if I could trade it for a vinyl, he said yes, so I traded it, happy days!

That's interesting. I guess they have been popular enough to warrent a "trade box" though not really a box. Either that or they just find that people are complaining too much
