    Doctor Who

Since I just started watching a few weeks ago and now am completely obsessed, I figured there has to be some other fans on here so we can talk about it here too

I'm almost done with the first season of the new series. I've been watching them as they're shown on BBC America. And I've seen all of the 11th doctor's eps () so just need to watch those ones in the middle

I'm also trying to watch the classic series, just cant find the eps anywhere online. Well, I found some but they only have so many. I guess I'll cross that bridge when I get there

I was wondering what ep you were talking about. I havent seen any of David Tennant's eps yet. I cant wait

I didnt really like Rose at first, but I've grown to love her. And I pretty much Jack.

I dont know whether to say or not but anyway
Rose does save the world through the tidus and leaving Black wolf messages.
David Tennant as Dr who leaves that eps and a new Dr Who comes
i just do not remember his name but my daughter likes him better than David

Figured she would save the world. Yep, I know. I've seen all of the 11th Doctor (Matt Smith) 's episode. I'm watching them in a very strange order. lol

Oh, you're not alone by a long shot!

Honestly, I feel like Chris Eccleston gets a raw deal from some of the fans. His energy was perfect for powering the initial Who reboot. David Tennant may have been a more fun Doctor overall, but Eccleston kind of rebuilt the foundation. I'm on the fence with Matt Smith so far. He's good, but I'm waiting for an "a-ha" moment.

Have either of you seen "Blink" yet? David Tennant's second series, I want to say about midway through - definitely after Martha Jones had been firmly established as the new companion. I'm not exaggerating when I call it one of the top five episodes of any television show. Ever. It's a masterpiece.

"The Girl in the Fireplace" (the 18th century France ep) was another winner; Sophia Myles - of "Moonlight" fame, and, at the time of shooting, David Tennant's girlfriend - was terrific. Plus, who doesn't have a soft spot for Mickey? "Mickey the Idiot, the world is in your hands."

Ohh I know we're not the only ones.

At first, when I started watching from the beginning, I wasnt sure what I thought of Chris Eccleston, but as time went on, I liked him more and more. I cant compare him to David yet since I've only seen maybe...one of his eps. But I did like him a lot and was sad to see him go (I just watched his last ep tonight actually)

I like Matt because he's such a doof And the Fez moment of my avvie Just so crazy. I do have to say, The Time of Angels and Flesh & Stone are probably the most terrifying tv eps I've seen of anything (and I watch Supernatural)

That's exactly why I liked Eccleston so much - when we first met him, he was kind of dangerous, maybe a little jaded, but he could just snap straight to exuberance and then pop over to menacing. It gave Rose the perfect arc as the one who softens the Doctor.

Tennant was great. I knew I'd love him just from the way he did the "new teeth" bit. I don't know if they're online anywhere, but Tennant's interviews with Graham Norton were always a hoot.

Haha! I hadn't noticed your avatar before! I still don't know that I like River Song, but that was a pretty good moment.

I actually lol-ed at the line about Supernatural. I don't watch, but I've heard good things.

Have you seen any of Torchwood, the Capt. Jack spin-off?

Oh I'm sure they're online somewhere. Everything is online somewhere. It's like, I like River Song, but I dont like her. It's hard to explain. Maybe it's, I like her, but I dont trust her. I think the one she kills in the future is the Doctor. (although that seems awfully obvious)

Supernatural is the best show ever. (altho DW is giving it a run for it's money.)

I think I saw one ep of Torchwood but I had no idea what was going on. I'll probably watch them after I finish everything else I have to watch. I Jack. I think the Jack/Doctor kiss made my life

That's the Gridlock episode and the big head is The "Face of Boe" (if you've seen the series 3 episode "last of the Time lords" with martha and jack as companions to David Tennant, you'll know how he really is ;) or at least figure it out hehe). Loved Ardal O'Hanlon as the cat guy, something about him that makes me laugh whatever role he plays, even if it's supposed to be more serious O_o

as for Smith, he grates on my nerves, I find him trying too hard to be like Tennant. Who has been my fav Dr so far, I try to give Smith a chance and hopefully the next series will have him acting naturally and not forced (Geronimo has to go to :P). I didn't like Eccleston so much until after he left. maybe I'll warm to Smith after he leaves

I miss Donna too! even though I kept expecting her to drop her tagline.. Bothered? hehe. reminds me... off to netflix to see if there's the Catherine Tate show on there

Lol! "Bovvered?" On Doctor Who? Never! I think I liked that bit best when Tony Blair did it, though. Donna certainly had a good relationship with the Doctor, but I think of the modern companions, Rose is still kind of the top of the pile. They've all been great, but only one ever got the title "Defender of the Earth."

The Face of Boe was a pretty cool little reveal. It managed to be both shocking and cute.

"The Christmas Invasion" was a pretty good episode; it let us get used to Tennant in small doses while falling back on Jackie, Rose, and Mickey as our stalwart characters. And that hand...

"Blink" was a very good one. I haven't caught any of the Matt Smith episodes, but I've absolutely loved Tennant. He's my second favorite doctor, right after Tom Baker (who was the first Doctor i'd ever seen)

No Smith? You will love him, he's my favorite Doctor. Tennant is in a class of his own though, it's hard for me to even compare him to Smith. Tennant is excellent

Yay, so I'm not the only one that started with Season 5? Hope you like it fluffycow333! I think my favorite episode from Season 5 is Time of Angels/Flesh & Stone. BEAUTIFULLY written, BEAUTIFULLY acted out by both Michael and Karen.

I love those two, those made me completely hooked on the entire show as a whole.

The Show as a whole has this Lost in Space vibe, but newer, and definitely with more depth. (loved Dr. Zachery Smith... wish they'd bring a paranoid on the show... maybe that's what Rory will add?)

Yea, I like the new doctor and Amy. Probably because they're younger and closer in age to me Or...because they're the ones of the first ep I ever saw.

Hahaha, I hope not! There has to be other fans on here!

Today's episode is Tennant's first (full) episode, so now that I know what's going on, I'll be able to start to judge what I think of him.

I'm going back to school next week and dont have BBC America (go figure, it's not one of the 49 channels I have ) and I really dont like watching stuff online since the quality is terrible. So may have to look into some dvd sets

I got into this show beginning with Eccleston and I've been addicted ever since. I've been very slowly catching up on the old school stuff thanks to Netflix.
