Today, the Disneyland Resort is seeing a lot of change, and I thought it couldn't get any busier, but I was wrong.
First of all starts with the Disneyland Hotel. Though this has been announced for quite some time now, it kind of passed over my head and I didn't see it posted on these forums.
The classic hotel will receive a complete renovation complete with a new interior and also a new looking exterior. However, the hotel will not close at any time. They will do the renovations in sections, allowing it to remain open for business while allowing workers to revamp the classic building.
Renovation is slated to begin next week on August 24, 2009 with the first rooms set to be ready in January.
As far as the exact changes to come, I will let the pictures do the talking:
Notice the new headboard designed inspired by the iconic sleeping beauty castle
Fiber optics are wired into the headboard to create a fireworks looking type of effect.
In addition, we should be all aware of the major renovations in DCA. Cars land, a new land to come to the park, is planned to take up the old timon & pumba parking lot area. To fix this mess, I've also heard a news report that Disney is looking to turn an old strawberry field into a new parking lot area. They will be going into talks with the Anaheim City Council to discuss/obtain the proper permits to make a parking location possible for the growing resort.

I think this renovation will definitely give the rooms a little bit of that Disney magic.
