How much do you like the new Toy Story set?

With all the commenting on the Toy Story series, I wanted to see what everyone REALLY thought of it as a set.

This was our most anticipated series, and both Mike and I are really disappointed with how it turned out. Our son is a Toy Story fanatic, all his toys are Toy Story, you get the picture. The only ones we really like are Buzz and Bullseye. Like someone mentioned, Woody and Jessie look like they gained 100 pounds, and the rest of the characters are just eh. We'll still be getting the whole set but I'm loving Have a Laugh more at this point. I think in general, the art doesn't seem as true to the characters as the other vinyls do.

Yeah Woody and Jessie look chunky but it's hard to keep it just like the character with the shape that they have to work with, but I think it's funny and cute that way.

Im really disappointed. Woody and Jessie has a FAT face. Those addons really kills it. Ham and a Evil Ham for the chaser. FAIL

Only one i like from this series is Bullzeye and Rex. The rest is WACK!!!! They just dont look right on the VM

Pretty happy about not liking them tho, since it gives me more of a chance to get the other two series

I do like most of them but agree the chaser is very disappointing. But I will probably end up getting a case since I like most of them.

I'm disappointed that they went this "variant" route as so many other companies do for their Chaser figures rather than a totally new character. I think I would have preferred to see another LGM but with an updated look and an antenna attachment.

I would also have liked to see Twitch, Chunk or Mr. Pricklepants over Buttercup.

Other than that, I love these.

I think they are good, but not as good as they could have been. The chaser is a bit of a let down for me, but I like most of the set. I think this set will be overshadowed by Star Wars when it is released.

I agree with this 100%, except I like big Baby. I love the chunky look of them, and the hats and other stuff are a neat addition, as long as they never change the basic shape.

The chaser is a HUGE let down.

Jessie and Woody are fat. I understand that you have to fit it to Mickey's shape, but I seriously liked the Muppets better and I don't even own a single Muppet VM. I know people complained about Beaker having white bits showing around his head, but I thought that was a great idea. I wish they could have done the same for Woody. The army man looks a little off too...

I also wish they didn't go the Toy Story 3 route. I get it though. Marketing, big 3D movie just came out, let's make characters from the new movie! But really, Big Baby?? *shudders* There are so many other great characters from all three movies and they went with the creepy doll and 2 Hams in the same set.

I do love Bullseye though! I thought he would have been the hardest to fit to the Mickey shape, but I think he turned out the best. The add-ons are great as well, I'm glad we didn't have to wait until 2011 to see these kinds of "props". This gives me hope that Star Wars might have lightsabers.

I voted that it's okay. This is based on the pictures only. But I've found when I see the vinyls in person they are a lot nicer than the pictures. So, I'm actually holding off judgement until I see them in person.

I would of liked it more had it been all the classic Toy Story characters. Would of love to see the Potato Heads and Slinky and maybe the scary baby from Toy Story 1.... Bo Peep...

I agree with all who said the new characters are a bit of a letdown. I definitely would have preferred to see the original toy cast. I was really looking forward to this set and anticipated buying a case, but I'm now thinking I'll just go for Buzz, Woody, & Bullseye - those are my fave right now.
Big Baby is pretty scary, which I guess it's supposed to be. If they had to include the new characters, I would have LOVED to see Mr. Pricklepants - I think he'd fit the vinyl form great!

I hope to get Buzz, green army man and Bullseye. And I'd be happy with Woody and Jessie to go along with Bullseye.

You can keep the rest. There are way too many other better characters that they could have and should have used instead.

Finally, in my opinion, this is easily the WORST chaser in the entire vinylmation line.

Chaser: nice idea, but not when there is already a regular one of Hamm in the set.

Designs: I think they should have made Lotso into a 9" design IMO and filled his ears in completely. Also I would have thought they could have been a little more creative with the designs. I know the characters themselves play a huge role in the film but so does props and set design. Why not a Vinyl based on Andy's Room, Pizza Planet (the delivery truck was in all 3 films), or human characters like Andy as a child on one side and Andy "college boy" on the other side. Zurg is supposes to be a 9" design which makes since and I can't wait to see him and the 9" Aliens as well. Bo Peep would have been higher on my list of designs over many of the others.

My ideal Toy Story series:
Woody
Buzz
Bullseye
Jessie
Bo Peep
Weezy (w/mic)
Hamm (w/cork)
Mr. Pricklepants
Chunk (different faces on each side, since the vinyls head can be turned)
Big Baby (I know not everyone's favorite but it did play a pretty big role in TS3)
Andy's Room (one side with cloud wallpaper, other with stars and perhaps a sign saying Andy's Room)
Andy himself as the chaser

9"
Lotso (w/cane)
Rex
Zurg (w/ion blaster)
3 Aliens (maybe with claw)

Obviously if the Potatoes could have been used that would have been ideal to have Mr. on one side and Mrs. on the other or one of each.

I think they came out great I would've rather seen Trixie with horns than a Big Baby vinyl. Also I agree where is Bo Peep, Woody needs his girlfriend. I have faith there will be a Toy Story Series 2. Maybe we'll see Mr. and Mrs Potatoe Head, Bo, Sid, Slinky Dog, Rocky, Trixie, Zurg, Prospector, Ken, Barbie, and Al in his chicken suit as the chaser! That would be a great set
