Totally agree... the characters are going to make this show... well some good zombie makeup as well. Can't help it, I love SFX makeup
No kidding. Only two of my friends read this book so it is nice to have others on here to chat with about this amazing series. Did you see a picture of who plays Andrea? I'm curious.
About it being awkward, do you mean because of a certain relationship she has eventually?
Yeah that's probably whyI bet the difference will not be as big in the TV series
Laurie Holden has been selected to play Andrea. I looked her up and she's about 38 years old, making that a pretty big age difference from the Andrea character. However, like I mentioned before...it seems as though she has a young appearance so I don't think the whole age thing will be that much of a problem. Sadly I'm known to dwell on details regarding things I'm passionate about. Also after looking at Holden's resumé, she seems to have a lot of cool stuff under her belt that could bring out a nifty Andrea character so I do have hope. Haha, I am definitely showing I'm an Andrea fan all the way!
At least some of you have friends in person to share the excitement with. Everyone I've talked to have been online only. Hopefully the television series will bring out some new fans of the comics. I'm sure it will...with individual issues and TPB becoming even more difficult to come by. Local comic shops sell out pretty fast and I've been told that anything with zombies and vampires are the biggest sellers. I'm totally not surprised.![]()

I hope so, because to me I pictures her very young like mid-20s and Dale somewhere like in his late 50s or even 60. There have been many emotional moments in this series and it all comes across as very real and genuine, amazing what can be done through great illustration and some word bubbles, aye?
So true... never know who's number is up next. Unsettling.
Go check this link, new pics iI had never seen before

I was so happy when I found out AMC was doing WD - they do such a great job with their series! Can't wait![]()
I agree! They did such a terrific job with Mad Men, so I am hoping that this series will be just as good, especially since I've been a fan of the comics for a couple of years now.I was so happy when I found out AMC was doing WD - they do such a great job with their series! Can't wait

Im hoping it gets picked up for more then just 6 episodes i really want to see the progression of Carl's character and how they will do it. Also i want to see how, if at all, they will do any of the Michonne and The Govenor's storyline probably one of the craziest things i have read in a comic lately.
I think the cast looks pretty awesome. I'm still skeptical about Andrea and now Carl. Their ages are slightly off from the characters in the comics, at least to me.
However, the overall look to everything seems to be shaping up quite well. I will definitely let the age thing slide if the acting ability shines through, that's for sure.
I wish I could have attended Comic-Con in San Diego that's happening right now. There's a booth with the Walking Dead cast and the new released poster for it looks pretty sweet. If anyone is there, be sure to take some pics to share!![]()

First AMC The Walking Dead trailer
The first scene looks a bit weird, but they was still work to be done on it I heard, but the rest is really great for me. Cant wait

Actually, until seeing this thread, I didn't realize The Walking Dead was based on a comic.
I didn't pay much attention to the lead-up to the show, but I was intrigued by the title, as it's a line from one of my favorite songs, "I was a Teenage Zombie," by the Fleshtones:
I went down to the soda shop -
Man you oughtta see the traffic stop!
Ain't they ever seen the walking dead before?
I'm just a kid - the zombie next door! Now,
I was a teenage zombie.
Naturally, I just listened to the song, remembered the fun cult movie of same name, and forgot about the show until it was recommended by an acquaintance. I figured, eh, why not?
Now, I'm happy to say that I'm hooked!
Having not read the books, how faithful is it to the source material?
The tv series is AWESOME!!!
I am loving this tv series. I'm really glad that they give you a chance to keep up with it with so many encore presentations. Kinda bummed about it almost being over though.
