    Dolphin Plunge question

My girlfriend and I will be headed to Orlando next week and are planning to go to Aquatica at some point during the trip (I already bought the tickets online). We have seen the videos and tried to read reports on the ride, but are still curious about the ride. Neither of us can swim, I like to consider ourselves expert drowners. Is it possible for either of us to do this ride? I was drowned when I was 3 and to this day I panic, to certain levels, when I'm underwater. I appreciate any info on this.

You will be fine. This is basically just a tube slide where you lie on your back and go through a tunnel that runs through the dolphin exhibit. It dumps into a very small pool and you may go underwater when you land but it would be for a second tops. The pool is not deep and you'll be able to stand up immediately. There is also a lifeguard on post about 5 feet away from the end of the slide.

Go on it first because the line gets really long for this one. It's fun but it's really tough to see the dolphins, you go by really fast and if they aren't right next to the tube you probably won't see them.

The park is beautiful though and I'm sure you both will have a great time!
    Have fun!

Thanks for the info.. After reading this, my girlfriend definitely won't let me pass up this ride.. I heard about the dolphins pretty much being a blur as you go by, but I'll still be so worried about the end pool that I probably won't even care about the dolphin section.. Haha

Make sure you hit the park either first thing at opening or late in the afternoon. On the peak summer days they typically close the gates around 11am and then don't re-open until 3pm or so if the afternoon. It's nice that way the crowds don't get unbearable and you can still enjoy the park.

We went last night though, got in around 5pmish and it was still fairly crowded. By 7pm though the park was prettty empty and really nice. It wasn't blazing hot and the water was warm. Had tons of room in the wave pools too which beats the heck out of banging into strangers.

Just got back from Orlando and my girlfriend and I had a great time. We went to Aquatica last friday and thought it was a little packed, but tolerable. You know it's bad when the lazy river has a line that extends past the water and towards the lockers. Anyways, we did the Dolphin Plunge pretty much at park opening, like you suggested, and we pretty much laughed at how scared we were to do the ride. It really was easy to do, I tried to take pictures on the ride, but they all came out extremely blurry. Just wanted to say thanks again for all the info.
