Classic Mickey Comics Anyone? =)

So I did a search and didn't see anything on this- if there is a thread like this, forgive me

I really enjoyed reading the old mickey comics when I was little- our family had a book with a lot of the great stories.

Anyone remember these? Any other classic mickey comics you'd like to share?

I loved Horace in Blaggard Castle! It's sad that some of these great characters have been cycled out of Disney altogether. I miss classic Disney!

I know! Horace was really funny, but you barely saw him in anything else I also kind of wish the Have a Laugh series would be inspired by some of these old mickey comics. Of course, I guess that series is focusing more on cartoons... so maybe a series in the future? I guess we'll just have to wait and see

Kayla, I don't know if you have the actual comics, but I was thinking you should choose one (Blaggard Castle) and post one strip a week. That way we can all enjoy reading them again like a Sunday serial comic. (Or at least I will enjoy reading them again since I seem to be the only one viewing this thread.)

Don't mean to create more work for you. I know you have better things to do... ;)

But perhaps a dancing lock would persuade you...

That's what I kind of had in mind- I have all of blaggard castle, the phantom blot, and editor in grief on my computer so I thought I'd share for those interested and those who have never read them So they'll be here for you soon, Michele... and whoever else is interested in reading

So here's the first page for the classic Mickey comic, Blaggard Castle! I'll post a new page for everyone to read each week. (sorry the text is kinda small, I just wasn't sure how big the pics should be on this site... wouldn't want the loading to take forever or anything. If it's too small, let me know!)

Go ahead and comment about it and everything if you want Or you can just simply read it. I'm not going to tell you what to do

Yay! I'm glad you'll enjoy it, Qsk50! Even if just a few people read it, it's worth it to me to post them up for people. I'll probably edit the first post and let people know where the next page is to make it easier to navigate.

Aw, I'm sorry you don't have your comic books anymore We had a treasury of the mickey comic strips, so that's how I know these mickey comics. My mom surprised me with this other book a few months back that shows a bunch of the Walt Disney stories that would appear in the Good Housekeeping magazine (or I believe it was that one!) and it's so interesting, and really cute.

To me the comic strips and short magazine stories Walt Disney created in the early years are just an amazing part of Disney history that I can't get enough of

The Mickey comics, to me, were never as good as Donald or Uncle Scrooge. Mickey didn't translate as well to the comic form. Although Floyd Gottfredson did some remarkable work with the character. (And I apologize, as I think I just misspelled his name.)

I've never read the Donald or Uncle Scrooge ones, but I bet I'd enjoy them since I enjoy Mickey comics! I'm not really into comic books or anything (mostly mickey) so I guess I am biased when it comes to the mickey ones. I'll have to look those donald and scrooge ones up tho

I'll definitely have to check those ones out! Thanks for the tip (I'm going to be doing a search for mickey comic books, so I'll have to include the ducks in my quest )
