    Character Signing

Has anyone taken their 9" to the parks and have the characters sign it? Just wondering if you did how it worked out for you. Thanks.

This seems to be pretty popular thing to do actually. Much cooler than an autograph book, but I've never done it personally.

Here's a good example of how it would turn out though: http://wdwdailynews.com/2009/07/25/a...mation-mickey/

My brother had mentioned doing this the next time he visited the parks (whenever that might be), and I thought it was a pretty good idea. It's good to see a visual. I think I may have to copy the next time I'm fortunate enough to get out there. Cool picture! Thanks!

It's a fantastic idea. If I ever manage to get out there I definitely want to do it. (Even though my girlfriend will most likely laugh at a 31-year-old man trying to get Mickey Mouse to write his name on a vinyl version of himself...)

When you get them to sign, what sort of pen do you use? I imagine a Sharpie would work well.

Hmmm....good point. Maybe I should wait until I have kids to do this. That way I can get them to get the autographs and I can "hold" their figure on my display shelf for "safe keeping."

I've heard those "clickable" Sharpies are really good for the characters, that way they are not fumbling with caps. (Even thought they ask you to uncap them before getting up there. I'm sure some people don't listen.)

Thanks for the awesome picture. Now I will definately buy one the next time I go to WDW for my dd(7). This is a wonderful display piece and something you can always view. Autograph books usually get put away and occaisionally looked at but this is soooooo much better.

You're gonna be a swell mom.

I've heard that too (probably on the same ITM podcast you did), but what I really meant was, what kind of pen is best to write on the vinyl itself. Does a Sharpie work?

I've signed a few of the 9" blanks. People do it but not as often as you'd think. Probably because the figure is 40 bucks a pop? yeaaa.

I did something similar for when I worked at Mission: SPACE. I had all of my coworkers sign it before I left. I was willing to shell out the $40 (well....$32...ah the perks of being a CM!!) because I knew it was something different, and something I would enjoy.

Here are pics of how it came out:

I like the little notes as much as I like the character autographs because this even fills up more of the space on the vinyl and makes it more colorful.

The CM name tag is awesome too - there's so many customs that came to mind when I saw that on there...

Oh, I think it looks great- it allows you to see a bit of the vinyl design amongst the signatures. I actually like it!
