DCA Food and Wine Festival!

I figured since WDW has a Food and Wine Festival thread I would start one for California Adventures! This can be the thread to share your favorite dishes, places to eat, sights to see, things to do!

One of the daily events that I like doing at the F&W Festival is the beer and wine walks! Here is a nice short article and video from the Disney Parks blog of how it works!

I do have some pictures, I should post them! I tried the new coke freestyle machine, the one with the 106 different flavors of coke products, it was very cool!

I went last year and sampled some of the little appetizer sized food. Those were okay. Its not nearly as extensive as WDW. The best thing was the free wine tastings (which now cost $1); however it was a great way to try some awesome local wine and hear from the winemaker. I forgot the winery but it from the central coast.

Also, this Friday, Sunny Anderson from FoodNetwork is going to be there. I wish I could go. Food Network is my favorite channel!

I have been twice this year and went 1/2 a dozen times last year. The Cheese Soup is amazing! Agh, I have dreams about it amazing. ... Someone go down and bring me some now please... I have done the beer tasting this year which is always fun, especialy if you have a great CM who fills your cups to the brim. I also tried the Coke Freestyle machine, and learned Diet Rasberry Coke is not a regular flavor for a reason.... Its a great event, the olive oil guys are great and I bought the tester and love the Fig balsamic.

I went on Saturday and had some of the best food. I'm sad that Memorial Weekend is the end of the Food and Wine festival for 2010. I might have to brave the crowds next weekend.

I definitely did not take advantage of F&W festival this year But Garet and I did the Italy wine walk ($10 for 4 samples). I don't like wine much but it was definitely fun and I am growing an appreciation for wine. Each stand has 3 choices of wine so Garet chose a red and I would choose a white and we'd taste each others'. At one of the stands they forgot to stamp my "passport" so I got an extra taste

Yeah thats one thing I liked doing last year that I haven't done this year! Maybe I will have to do it before the F&W festival is over!
