Fantasia and Fantasia 2000 - Worth watching?

I was photoshopping up a Fantasia Diamond Edition cover (below) when I started thinking: I haven't actually watched either of the Fantasia movies!

So, what do you suggest? Worth renting, or not?

I didn't know there was a difference between the two.

Honestly, I can't even remember anything about Fantasia except for The Sorcerer's Apprentice part.

Likewise! I remember seeing that part, but I don't think I have seen any of the rest of Fantasia. I'm sure I haven't seen any of Fantasia 2000, that's for sure.

If you enjoy classical music, you should definitely watch both of these! I especially enjoy Fantasia, it's a classic, and is worth seeing at least once!

im so happy and proud that my mom exposed me and taught me how to appreciate Art and Music...and letting the imagination go!

and P.S. how cool would it be if they did a vinyl series of fantasia!?!!

Using Disney blurays BD live feature, there's a trailer for Fantasia 2000 and Original Fantasia saying that they're going to be released on bluray so yup it's true.

On another note, There's also a trailer for Beauty and the Beast Bluray as well.

Yes, I can confirm. Because Aladdin didn't have such great sales in it's Platinum Edition debut, it was replaced with the Fantasia anthology for the Diamond Edition series. Hopefully we'll still see a new edition of Aladdin sooner or later. I don't even own a Blu-Ray player actually, but I love when new editions are released because I am a cover-art freak. Not to mention that I can still purchase the Blu-Ray combo packs so I get all all the curvy-blue-case goodness. ;)

Oh, and thanks for the comments people! ^_^

I have seen both. I love the animated aspect, but I am not into classical music. I own both versions, but never watch them. My daughter isnt interested in them at all.

I am the same way!! If there's a film I think I'd like with awesome cover art, It'd just seal the buying deal on it for me! I even like it when they go all out with art on the discs themselves. Some releases are disappointing on that at times though.
Good thing about BR combo packs is you have your standard version DVD for now and you'll already have BR's for when you actually do go BR. (I have my ps3 so I'm good at the moment though)

I haven't seen Fantasia 2000 but the original is amazing... short of the racism .

I actually enjoyed Fantasia 2000 more than the original. It just seemed more bright and upbeat. Rhapsody in Blue is probably my favorite in 2000 and Donald as Noah in Pomp and Circumstance. Fantasia 2000 even has the Sorcerer's Apprentice. Oh and how can I forget the yo-yoing flamingo. Just watch it, you may just like it. :p

Ah yes, I think I have heard of that. Something to do with a white fawn and a black fawn that was cut from the latest release I think?
