HUbby and my daughter love this new addition to DD. They both had a great time picking their cars, and picking their rims and tires and then putting them together.

It is in Downtown Disney CA, it is right next to the Build a Bear shop. And yes it is like the Build a Bear where you pick out your own accessories for your car.
OOps sorry - Florida! Across from Bongo's. And yep it's like Build a Bear! Lots of options to make your car!
Ridemakerz
you need to be careful though as it gets expensive quickly
I am glad they are opening new stores!!!

Ride Makerz I think is trying to give the Lego store a run for it's money. A very neat idea, but agree whole heartedly that it can become very expensive VERY quick!!!
I went in this store for the first time yesterday. Due to my gender and age it was not very appealing to me.
I'm sure little boys go crazy over it though. My brother would have loved that place when he was little.
went there last week, store was pretty cool. they fulfilled my dads dream of putting a hemi in his car. $5.00 + tax. it's going to hang from the rearview mirror LOL
What does a typical kid spend on a single visit?

Anyone have any other info on this place? When looking around i see stuff saying "through the fall of 2010" but didn't it just arrive earlier this yearWondering if that means it's location or the store itself is temp? They need to add motorcyles to the mix

I took my husband to ridemakerz on fathers day weekend. He was able to buy one and get one free. He had a great time with my daughter picking out thecar and all the extras.
They had a great time but it was expensive. I think it was worth the money becuase of all the fun they are having racing their cars. Make sure you invest in the battery pack , well worth the money.
Buy one get one free was a great deal!!!!
i love it tooo i was surprise they had my scion xb yeah now i have a mini model of my car. kinda feels like a 3" Vm Next To 9"Vm

Obviously this is a self serving response but it would be great to have all makes of all cars so you could make a remote control car of your own car. Logistically probably not realistic. They have Scions and I wish they had an Element!
I thought this was awesome any boys dream! All ages my boyfriend of 26 wants to make one!![]()
They have CARS themed rides in now @ the DL DStreet location... Mater, Sally and Lightning!
I spent $80(more but they offer 15% off for AP holders) on Lightning McQueen, a set of upgraded tires, a set of upgraded wheels, R/C kit and spoiler.
Worth every darn penny.... and now I want another one!![]()

Story (11-16-2010)
I couldn't walk out of there without a tricked-out Sally and Lightning.Great use of the old Virgin Records space in DTD. Too bad my wife yanked me out of the store before grabbing Mater too

Wow! That sounds great! I'm a girl & I still LOVE Ridemakerz! I want to make one for my son just so I can use it! lol I would love to get him a CARS themed one! He loves that movie!!! (and so do I of course!) I think its definitely geared towards younger boys/teens but I think people of all ages can enjoy the store! It was really neat on our trip to watch boys create their cars with their dads help! I like how you can customize every little detail...tires, stickers, etc.

We visited one of their store last week and it was pretty impressive. Didn't pick up anything since they didn't have any car that strikes my interest. I was configuring one online and it ended up being over $100 dollars. I can get a decent R/C cart for that price.

It was on the Disney Parks Blog yesterday.
http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blo...disney-update/This fall, construction will begin on Splitsville, a 50,000-square-foot upscale entertainment center that combines bowling with billiards, dining, music and nightlife. To make way for this experience, RIDEMAKERZ, currently located on the West Side, will move to the Marketplace.
