    La Brea Tar Pits

I am a turbo nerd when it comes to prehistoric life so, upon my visit to Cali last November to visit a friend, La Brea was a must! It houses an enormous collection of fossils from between 10,000 and 40,000 years ago, during the last Ice Age, when the Los Angeles Basin was home to critters like Saber-tooth cats, Mastodons, Giant Sloths, and Dire Wolves. In fact they've uncovered over 3600 dire wolf skulls at La Brea alone!

    The End
