HI all.
So, the first showing has taken place. If you were there, or have just seen the new EO, please post your review. I'm curious what, if anything, has changed from the original? And, what did you think of it?
I'm trying to clear my desk at work, so I can see it ASAP. Until there...make me jealous!
I was apart of the first viewing and loved the crowd that was there with me to enjoy this wonderful show. It was definitely something that I wish I was able to view as a child but was not even born when it debuted in 1986. I enjoyed the 3D graphics and the, im not sure what to call it, but when air blows in your face and certain parts and what not. There were also plenty of times when the floor would move and shake accordingly with the movie. According to some other things I've read about the show, there is no longer any lazers or smoke. Here are some pics...
came around 7am and this was my spot in line. I figured it was a pretty good spot being that it seemed there was a lot of hype around this event.
finally in the park at around 9:30am, EO sign in front of the auditorium.
anxiously waiting...it seemed like they made us wait till exactly 10 till the doors opened. the film in the beginning was also very interesting and informative.
sitting and waiting for the show to start. it was almost at full capacity, i believe the first two front rows were practically empty. Media filled a lot of the sides and parts of the back.

We are going Thursday I can't wait to see it again as I saw it way back when it originally debuted. I'm excited to even just get a shirt of EO lol.

there is no definite time. so its up in the air. i would say anyone going before the end of summer should get a chance to see it.

I saw it yesterday and it was very fun. I'm still not too sure about the floor shaking. It was ok for some spots but it got kinda annoying after 5 minutes of bouncing. From what I understand they will be keeping Captain EO for as long as it stays popular.

Saw it last night, at one point the floor shakes for almost 2 minutes straight. It's really annoying and almost to the point of motion sickness.
2 full minutes? i heard that was during the dancing scene. i dont think i want to see a show that might get me motion sick. i know my wife easily gets motion sick. i might have to pass on it.

I think the show was AWESOME!! I loved it, really took me back to when I first saw it in 87. My only gripe is that the merchendise for it is weak lol. I wanted to buy a black t shirt with the poster on it but the shirt is sooooo cheaply made. When you hold it up you can see through it, lol not a good quality for a black t shirt. Its like they had the material to make 1 T shirt and made 2 out of it instead to make more money, which i wouldnt put past disney. But the show itself was still awesome, love the songs in it and everything. When Micheal came on screen the whole theatre ERUPTED!! which was really cool.
im glad people are liking the show but i think they should have put some more effort into the apperal and special effects inside the show.

I am excited to get a chance to see this for the first time, but it's more of a nostalgic thing!
I am not expecting something new that I have never seen before, I am expecting a blast from past, and hoping that this will encourage Disney to move away from turning Tomorrowland into a Pixar filled land and maybe into more of what it use to be! Hopefully, Captain EO will be the first of many yesterland attractions to return to Disneyland's Tomorrowland!
I saw it opening day. It was what I remember from when i was 9... AWESOME. The floor movement didnt make me motion sick and I get motion sick pretty easy on Star Tours. The merch as disappointing. Im going tomorrow and cant wait to see it again.
I finally went and saw it on Sunday. I don't think I had ever seen it before. The dancing was great, but all I could think of was the big 80s hair and the outfits (maybe it's just me). I'm glad the 80s are over.
Thats why I am so excited to see it!
I'm kinda nervous to see Captain EO because I remember loving it as a little kid but I'm pretty sure my opinion will be drastically different now lol
Watching it brought back childhood memories!
I loved captain EO... It's sooo refreshing to see MJ again.

I forgot to mention that there are actual lines to see this unlike the last show... Show up early to the show times!

The show was definitely enjoyable (except for the moving seats) in my opinion. I never saw the show back when HISTA was there, so this is a good change.
It'd be a perfect change if they could do something with the huge quality degradation...
