    Visiting Disney November/January

    Hello all,

Looks like I am going to visit Disney in either November or January. We are having a hard time deciding.

We have been in January before but are considering November for this year. Does anyone have any insight about how November is for climate/rain and how busy the parks are?

January especially this year was awesome for climate but we find in January there is a significant amount of Brazilian tour groups....

Any insight would be very appreciated!

    Thanks!

Early November is really nice. Things usually slow down between Halloween and Thanksgiving, and most of the holiday decorations will be up. The Food and Wine Fest also usually runs into the beginning of the month.

Rain ... eh. That's right on the edge of the end of hurricane season and the beginning of the dry season, so it can change wildly, but it's usually pretty temperate.

    Both months are awesome
But usually January isn't as busy and you can still catch the holiday decor if you go early enough.

We went this last November and got rained out one of the days POURED like no other
But the other three days were just slightly overcast, so it was nice!

Anytime but summer can change wildly

But november is a great time to visit for the exact reasons said above. January will be better if you're looking for lower prices, but november will have more special events. If you go too early in jan, you'll still have to deal with the holiday crowds which are not fun at all whatsoever.

Time it right and you'll be able to see both the halloween and holiday decorations!

I also agree with Phylers we were there the first week in November last year. We actually hit a sort of cold front for that week. The weather was a bit cooler on most days and warmed back up towards the end of the week. I made sure to pack my family long sleeves and pants since you never know. We enjoyed it being cooler as I find it more relaxing to walk around with jeans and a t-shirt then sweating to death .

Also as he mentioned the food and wine usually ends within the first part of November. Depending on the week you choose it might be Jersey week. We wound up going during that week, but we didn't feel it was much more crowded.

I love the November time of year down there. The weather is ideal, the crowds are a bit lighter(pending you don't go thanksgiving week), and all the Holiday decorations are up. My absolute favorite week to go out of the whole year is the week after Thanksgiving !

Thanks for the feedback, we are likely looking at November now for sure.

Does anyone know in November if it is bad for tour groups? Although not sure if there is a time at Disney where there wouldnt be a lot of tour groups.

I didn't notice many, if any, the first week in November. The week after Thanksgiving the Pop Warner football teams and cheerleaders come in from other states so you'll definitely see more of those during that time frame.

Any more, the tour groups are kind of a year-round thing. It seems like they've started to get a little better as far as manners go, though.

The first part of Novemeber has become the ideal time for my family. Weather , crowds, holiday decor and fun all just seem to aline.

I've been 3 out of the last 4 Januarys and it was great, there were quite a few Brazilian & Argentinian (SP?) tour groups and part of that made for a downer because of the sizes of the groups and the lack of personal space when in long lines with them but it was not that big of a deal. Depending if you stay on site the large groups can be a pain and where you stay, Port Orleans & Caribbean Beach they were not a bother, but at POP there were a lot of issues.
