Thanks to a delightful little programming mistake, Silver Dollar City accidently leaked the layout of their new for 2013 wooden roller coaster, very briefly. Some savy net surfers were smart enough to print screen it while they could - and thank goodness for that.
Gang - get a load of this ride. 81º first drop - the steepest ever built on a wooden roller coaster. Overbanked turns so steep that they are literally upside down - and if that isn't enough, banked in the WRONG direction of the turn! (pic below)
And - the grand finale - a double barrel roll - two full heartline inversions ON A WOODEN ROLLER COASTER.
This ride is coming to you thanks from Rocky Mountain Coasters - a fairly new company who recently rebuilt Six Flags Over Texas' formerly-very-rough Texas Giant coaster, turning it into one of the wildest, most out of control, SMOOTHEST rides you'll ever see. I have high praise for them, and based on how they're raising the bar with Outlaw Run at Silver Dollar City, it's clear that they're not going to sit back and ride their own coattails after one big attraction.
And the best part? Can't spill all the details just yet, but Silver Dollar City is only one of two killer Rocky Mt. insane-o wooden coasters debuting in the US in 2013! It's going to be a VERY good year!![]()
