What would everyone suggest as a plan of action for MNSSHP? I've read mixed reviews on this and I know a lot of it depends on whether you have kids or not. It will be two adults who want to meet some characters, definitely see the fireworks, Villains show and the parade. What order should it all be done?

I try to tell her how amazing she is and how we come back to see her every year but she doesn't break character. ;) I hope she does know how talented she is! I wish that Cruella was in the parade!

There are some rare characters out that made it fun for my best friend and I to get pictures with him. It would be a good memory. Definitely go on the Haunted Mansion, usually all the cast members are dressed up with scary make-up and stuff. It makes it more fun. The Villains show is awesome (especially if you get the great Cruella, I hope you do! She makes it worth it!). And the parade is really cool. I'd wait to watch the second parade and go back by Frontierland/Splash Mountain where it will begin. You'll find great seats. And show up a little early before the parade because the Headless Horseman opens it a couple minutes before and it's really cool to see that!

This event is seriously my favorite disney event EVER. I go every year! Honestly, the most fun about it for me is just the general atmosphere. The music, the costumes, the lighting, the decorations, it is all just completely awesome and amazing! And like SorcererAdam and niftyk13 said, you cannot miss the Headless Horseman! You must line up early! Also, the parade in general is just SO great.

Omgosh, I am super excited right now just thinking about it, hehe!!!!! Can't wait for our trip!

    P. S. I'm in New Jersey too, haha!

We went to Mickeys Very Merry Christmas Party and saw all 7 dwarfs then. We got in line about an hour before the party even started. I'm sure youll see people lining up super early and its worth it bc then you dont waste all your time in line and can enjoy the party. Also if youre already in the park for the day, they have CMs scattered about taking tickets and putting wrist bands on guests so you can just stay in the park for the day/event. Take lots of photos!!!

going this year for the 1st time too! is it worth going twice? we went to MVMCP last december and ended up going twice, and we were glad we did cuz there was too much to do in one night. Does MNSSHP have the same amount of events/characters that would make it worth 2 times?

we have tix for TUE 10/23...and i'm kicking around the idea of getting tix for 10/16 as well (we'll be lucky enough to be at WDW for 16 days in OCT!!!). we've done this party once before, and loved it! agree w/those who have said to DEFINITELY take advantage of meeting the rare characters during this party. the seven dwarves pretty much ONLY come out for this and MVMCP. GET THERE EARLY!!! there are other rare meet and greets around the park, as well...my advice - do a little research on line from past year's to see what to expect. that helped us.

definitely see the 2nd parade if you can. lots of folks clear out of the park after the 1st parade - if they have younger kids or what not...do NOT miss the fireworks...and make sure to take a LARGE bag for candy. the small plastic bags they give you will fill up fast. there were 3 of us the time that we went. we just kept filling up the bags that we were given at the party, and then dumping them into a pillow case. i always bring a fish scale w/me to WDW to weigh our luggage before heading back to MCO. no joke...we came away from MNSSHP with 7 lbs of candy!!! if you can, stick it out until the very end. by 1130P or so, the candy stations just want to get rid of what they have. they'll start dumping HANDFULS into your bag as you pass by!!

Well, just off the top of my head, it's cheaper. There's free candy. No dopey idiots who can't hold their liquor. No horror elements (I'm sorry, but where's the attraction in having someone jump at you and go, "boo"? When I see someone lunge for me, there's about a 50% chance my reaction will be to swing, not jump and giggle ). Cheaper. Free candy. Ride lines are pretty much nonexistent. The parade is pretty good, and they have characters out that don't normally appear. Oh, and it's cheaper. And there's free candy.

I haven't picked a date yet, but I'm also not really the costume type. I guess that means I'll be dressed as "over-grown kid that's pretty much only here for rides and candy."

You mean you'll be cleverly disguised as a responsible adult? I wear a t-shirt with those words on it occasionally... always gets a laugh!

I love Halloween and I esp love going to MNSSHP and being able to dress up as my fave character in the Parks! My two friends and I are going as Sully, Boo & George Sanderson from Monsters, Inc. We're doing more of a "Disney Bound" interpretation of the characters instead of literally wearing produced costumes. I got a purple tank top, purple jeans, silver flats and I am making Boo's monster costume headpiece using a black headband, pipe cleaners, foam balls and a mop head. I am making my friend who is craft challenged a shirt for George Sanderson consisting of a bright orange shirt, felt I'm cutting up to make the "stripes" and a sock I'm going to sew onto the back upper shoulder blade. My other friend is creating Sully w a bright blue shirt, purple duct tapes circles for spots & purple running shorts.

LindsayinNJ- I love Disney Bound! I wanted to do something like that too only with Pegasus. I found the perfect shade of blue shorts at Target, but could never find my size Would've looked really cute with a white tank, wing necklace and gold flats.
