Ehhh they could have done a LOT of awesome things with this. Instead it just looks like the silhouettes of Time Square during New Years with a very large advertisement for WWoS. It doesn't even look like a sports-themed vinyl. Quite disappointed

I was so excited to click this thread, but I guess I was expecting something more sportsy

This gets a solid "meh" for concept, but it's actually a pretty good design ... for a concept that remains "meh." I mean, look - Wide World of Sports is a cool thing for them to have, and it's awesome that I get to see the Phillies at least once a year in Spring Training without having to drive out to Clearwater, but beyond that, there's not much at Wide World of Sports for the average Disney visitor. The vast majority probably never even stop there.

So why did it need a vinyl?

Think of all the tournaments and sport competitions that they hold their every weekend. There's always a cheerleading/softball/football/etc. thing going on. And for some of those kids, it might be the only time they get to come to WDW. The vinyl is okay, not the best, but I can see Disney wanting more merch for WWoS for that segment of their guests.

How many go through the gift shop, though? Most of those kids get shuttled to and from the front of their respective field area; they don't usually have time to pass through the main restaurant/gift shop.

It's Disney. I'm sure they find a way to put it out where it will be tempting.

Didn't you say that about the Sea Creatures, too?

I did not! And at least WWoS has some sentimental value. Sea Creatures were just stupid (even if the lobster does have sentimental value for me )

I'm sure they will be littered throughout the Team Mickey Store in DTD too.
