WDW Trade Night July 6th

So, I've been debating on posting this for several days, but wanted to wait until I got home so I could verify I wasn't crazy or seriously mistaken.

At the WDW trade night last Friday, I had a P8 Frontierland Mickey chaser taken from my table. I had walked away to trade into the mystery box, while 2 sets of trusted eyes watched over my stuff as well as their own. I had several higher valued vinyls in a clear tackle box with the lid closed, sitting next to about 30 other vinyls. Neither of my friends saw the box being touched or opened, but Mickey disappeared.

As trade nights can be quite chaotic, and I had only brought a fraction of my traders with me on this trip, I thought maybe I was confused and hadn't brought him with me. Now that I'm home, I'm certain that he's truly gone.

Please be careful with your stuff at trade nights. Even though I had trusted friends keeping an eye on my stuff, things still disappear. This isn't the first time this has happened in Orlando, as I've heard of other vinyls and accessories walking off.

I'm pretty disheartened by it all and not sure what I'll do at future trade nights, but I did want to get the word out there so hopefully it doesn't happen to anyone else.

Really sorry to hear this - especially it being a P8 Frontierland Mickey - he is so cute!

Unfortunately there is a small portion of people that ruin everything for everyone else - bit like the people who cherry pick/weigh blind boxes for chasers etc.

Basically stealing in both cases, which ever way you look at it.

Clearly the temptation of a $50, $70, $100, $200 vinylmation just sitting there is too much for some people!

LMNOP, I am so so sorry. You are such a sweetheart - you reached out to me when I was going to attend one to calm my fears. I know you put a lot of good vinyl karma out there and I am crushed this happened to you. Don't worry - Mickey's Circus is gonna be amazing and there WILL be trustworthy ppl there. I wish I could send you a new one but I don't have one myself. I wish you better luck in the future.

Being one of those trustworthy set of eyes, I have no idea what happened. It was in a box where we would have seen it being opened and as far as we could see, now one went near it.

At the trade night before this one, I had a hat stolen. I traded for a Waldo who had his hat and set it down on the table to do a pin trade. When I went to pick him up, his hat was gone. We checked all around the tables and everything but no hat. We have a feeling someone stole it because we know his hat is easily lost. Thankfully, someone traded me for the hatless Waldo at this trade night but still.

I don't want this to discourage people from bringing vinyls to things like trade night, just to be careful.

That's it all of our vinyls and accessories will be equipped with gps trackers and they won't be removed unless we make a successful trade .

But in all seriousness gimmie a break people. This is a fun hobby for everyone to enjoy together. Why must people do such things

I am so sorry to hear that elemenopy! I can't even imagine why somebody would do something like that. I hope that who ever took it drops it and seriously scuffs it up!

Who knows maybe you will pull a Frontierland Mickey at the Mickey Circus event!

Ugh.. Not Cool! I wish I could say this was a first but as we can see, it isn't and I've had it happen to me too. Really takes the fun out of it!
This was one of the reasons I started bringing & leaving all my loose 3" figures IN the clear cases hoping to lessen the chance of "table-swipping" after having several vinyls taken last year during Florida Project.

So sorry this happened girl! I guess even our latched cases aren't good enough now :/

I was at this event but I actually did not have any of my vinyls with me. I was so overwhelmed with my pins I didn't know what to do! If I would've brought my vinyls with me, I would've probably passed out from the heat in the room and the huge crowd. LOL. Needless to say it was definitely a fun night.

Sorry to hear that happened to you, elemenopy! There's some people these days in the Vinylmation community that are getting desperate, and are taking advantage of others. It's completely wrong. Especially, when people go to these trade events all they want to do is have fun, enjoy themselves, and not have to worry about these types of things....but, people are evil when stuff like this happens. Hopefully you can get another one somehow. Good luck, and sorry that had happened to you.

Mickey's Circus . Honestly I wouldn't look for the next trade night till November most likely . Disney seems to skip a month whenever there is an event. So this one was in July, Mickey's Circus September, and most likely they'll skip October and go for November . If they do this it will keep them in line for next years big event for September again.

It should be the Thursday before Mickey's circus. Last year on the early registration day was a Trading Night. From 12:00-7:00 was for Event guests only, then from 7:00-10:00 was public.

Sorry to drag up an outdated thread, however... I have to take back my previous post! Apparently, I am a giant mess who hides things from herself. My Mickey was not jacked at trade night - he was hiding in with some of my other traders that I knew I wasn't going to take. I guess I didn't search well enough when I got home. Even though Silvered and I were pretty sure I had him when I got to Orlando a few weeks ago, he had never even gone to Florida on that trip. So yaaaaaaaay for that!

On the other side of this though, the advice still stands - be careful with your stuff. While I didn't have anything taken this time, other members still have, and it's likely to happen again if we're all not careful.
