Great article JTChief82! I love the vinyls that have accessories - especially hats And the light sabers are pretty darn cool, too

Great article, JT! I have to say I'm on the fence with this one. Removable accessories create a whole extra complication with trading as they can be easily lost. But then again, when they can be taken off, you can put them on other vinyls for often hilarious results. Plus, they can really add to the whole design, as you pointed out in the article. It can really go both ways, but I prefer when the accessories are stuck in place so there really is no worry.

A minor annoyance with accessories as well is when they add a lot of height, as they often are now too tall for my display cases.

    Great article, JT!

I have to say, I'm pro-accessory! Just think - if it weren't for accessories, poor Sparkles would still be horn-less! That's just sad 'Nation. Sparkles needed something to fill the hole!

Great job JT! I love your analysis and agree with just about all of it. I still wish the Lion King Series had tails though Rifiki's staff is awesome.

And yes, think of Sparkles! I really need to work on the continuing adventures of Sparkles.

That article really got my thinking. I generally have enjoyed and embraced the slight alteration the accessories bring to the vinylmation designs. Truth be told I'm sure thee are plenty of things that are unproportionate, some of the hand/ finger sizes of some vinyl designs always seemed like they were disproportionate, and I'm sure some of the helmets added are also over emphasized if you start analyzing the scale of them. I love vinylmation and I've learned to love both old mold and new, and look forward to the possibilities that these designers may come up with
May the trades & blind boxing be ever in your favor!

The last part of the comment saved you from not getting thanked for that one. That, and knowing why you are being extra corrective.

Very enjoyable read, JT! I think another major oversight was V2 Hook without his hook. How did that even happen?

I liked it, although I think I might like the sequel better; this one didn't even get a cameo out of the best accessory ever (*cough*Figment's helmet*cough*).

Was that a subtle enough way of saying I hope the "Accessorized" blog features continue?

Gotta say I love the extras..they really make each vinyl with them stand out, i like how they confirm to a mold but with a single extra they look better... be it a hat, a tale (something i agree with you with for lion king)... the new star wars all really make the most of the extras...i'm very much for them

    great article =)

I'd say accessories are hit or miss with me, it took me a while to get on board with the nerds glasses but now i'm quite fond of them, but I like things to be uniform, and frankly accessories mess up my lines haha!

"Personally I love all of the Muppets, but Fozzie really looks almost naked without his signature Pork Pie hat. You might even say it doesn’t “Wocka, wocka, wocka”!" I can't believe no one has commented on that yet! It made me laugh though

Accessories are very hit or miss for me too. Sometimes they just don't seem neccessary (overly large hats, anyone?) and other times they are the perfect addition to a good design. Good article, JT!

I LOVE accessories! In fact most of the time I would keep or want a figure because of the extra perks. In my spare time I like to paint. Acrylic is my main medium, but my paintings have a little something extra added onto the canvas. It’s more 3D texture art on the canvas, so to me they still resemble art just like my paintings when I add to the canvas.
