I read and hear a lot people saying it's a Flop, but I personally like it! Good rides,Good shows and hey It's close to DLR! I don't know what people expect, They have 7 parks in WDW so they had to do something different.

No it didn't flop! Well, to be honest, It kind of did until all the refurbishments started happening just recently. Cars Land is going to make it better IMO.
Speaking from people who have for the first time been to DCA when it already underwent it's 'Disney-theme' changes, we have to say that we too were wondering what people hated so much about it...we really enjoy it. It's obviously a lot easier to love when you have an Annual Pass and don't have to make a choice between DLR or DCA, but sometimes when we road trip down to SoCal, we'll easily spend an entire day in DCA and never step foot in DLR.
I can't wait to go back! haven't been since 07

I have never been to the park but I think it did flop. Disney is investing a billion dollars to change things in the park. I think that speaks for itself. I also think it's in the process of becoming a pretty quality park.
We did like CA very much!!!!

A nice feature of DCA is that it is connected to the grand Californian. That is a really nice feature that I can't experience at WDW.
Last year was the first time I ever went to CA Adventure and I like it, i do not know how it was before. ToT is awesome, Screamin for rollercoaster people and symphony swings are my other favorite rides. There are some stuff I think they can get rid off or improve upon. The nightshow is awesome. And I am really looking forward to Buena Vista theming for entrance at park and I am not a CARS fan but I am looking forward to CarsLand. I think the idea of new park was good but the original execution might of not been good but it's getting there. And it also has more blind box trading than DL.

I actually liked the concept of this park when it first opened. I think it was poorly executed and needed more of a draw to bring a crowd, but I thought it was a very strong theme. I like that they've made it Disney, but I don't think they had any reason to remove aspects like the Califonia letters and the GGB that were icons in this park. They got rid of the mickeyhead on screamin' and it was really one of the only "Disney" things from when the park opened.
I've never been to Florida, so I can't compare to the parks there. I grew up on Disneyland. The concept of there being two parks really didn't make sense to me the first time I went after DCA opened. I thought I was being scammed. At this point I feel that DCA has no identity. It would not stand on it's own as a park if Disneyland were not there.
I have a question, I live in NJ, is DLR/CA really worth the trip out there? Or can I get all I'm looking for at WDW?

There are some great rides at DCA I love Tower of Terror, California Screamin', Little Mermaid, Monsters Inc, Toy Story Mania, and the new Radiator Springs Racers are awesome!
I think it is too early to really determine if the park flopped. Most parks have had to undergo some sort of major refurbishment at some point to add new experiences. But I think that since the refurbishments have helped in building park attendance may show that the changes have helped in making DCA a hit.
lol 7 was a typeO! lol I meant 6, I don't count DTD and Quest "Parks" 4 and the 2 water. Sorry for the Type o!

Personally I think CA Adventure was poorly designed with not much to it when it first opened. A lot of wasted open space.
I really like the way they have been changing it around.
I absolutely love the new old style look when you first walk in.
Cars Land is so cool however Aerial IMHO needs more scenes to it.
The New Ca Adventure is going in the right direction however the 36% mid year increase in a premium pass from $469 to $639 to pay for it
is absolutely absurd!

Oh I love DCA! It is my hubby's favorite part of our trips. Whenever Disneyland got a little crowded we just headed to DCA and walked around, rode the rides, and relaxed. Big thumbs up for DCA (but I will miss the CALIFORNIA letters that used to be out front - I loved those!)
California Adventure has easy access to DRINKS. I approve.
I loved DCA. I grew up in Orange County and spent a lot of time at both parks using my annual pass that I had for years and years. I do agree that there may not be as much to do in DCA as there is in DLR, but as an adult with no children, I appreciated the fact that they had a few places that you could buy a beer/cocktail. The only thing that use to bother me about DCA is that they closed the park a lot earlier then DLR. I'm not sure why, but they would sometimes close as early at 5:00pm or 6:00pm during the off season. But overall, it's a great park and some wonderful renovations being made to it recently and upcoming

WOW!!!!! That's a CRAZY increase!!!! We moved out of Cali a few years ago and so of course, I haven't had my annual pass but thought it was excessive when it was at the old price. I did appreciate that they had a month auto payment out of your bank account which made it easier. I can't imagine how much a family of 4 or 5 would dish out over a years of passes. Such a shame!
