    About those lines...

I know this forum has gotten pretty quiet but I tried something today and the more people that do it the more likely it is to work. When I got to the Firehouse this morning and got my cards I asked if I could offer a suggestion.

I said since so many people have played many times and just enjoy watching the card effects and combos it would be really cool if, when we start for the day they ask us if we'd like the story turned on or off. That would mean when we get the first introduction it jumps to the end and tells us where to go next. Any time we need a Sorcerer's Crest it jumps right to that part telling us to use the Crest, then jumps to where to go next. Any spell scene jumps right to where the villain attacks us, and we counter, then it jumps to tell us where next. Cutting out the story should be very simple programming to enact in the system and if we want to see it we can request it.

The CMs I told this to this morning all thought it was a very good idea and said they'd pass it on to the powers that be, but like I said it's hard to say if it will be. I think this would be an elegant and simple solution to all the line and leveling problems theyve run into. I'll be doing the same suggestion when I go tomorrow.

    Thoughts?

I get what you're saying, but Disney is all about story. It's one of the main things that separate it from your basic amusement park.

Oh absolutely and the story is fantastic and looks great and is always what brings in the onlookers exited about what they stumble into. But for most people after seeing everything for the seventh or eighth time and they've memorized every line and scene, all they want to do is play their cards and move on. And that's completely understandable and will not only make them happy not to see these things repeatedly but help those lines that have gotten so huge. PLUS it would be completely at the players daily discretion so if they want to see it all they can and if they don't they certainly wouldnt have to. That's a win for everyone.

I guess I don't see a downside to your idea. TPTB may also be planning for increased capacity with more portals in FLE and biding their time with just keeping everybody locked on Easy until it opens.

True but I'd heard they were actually going to use that one as it's own story and villain when it opens. And eventually Tomorrowland too with the same idea.

There should be a Skip spell card that you hold up to skip the story if you want to. Or if you put the key card on the keyhole again you can skip like pressing a button on a controller during a game.

Both of those would be much appreciated too! I just think the "Do you want the story turned on or off" question from the start of day would be more simple for us and them. Less things to think about or know, just a very simple question with a check box answer on their side. I've been mentioning it every day and all the CMs seem to think it should be a simple thing to do so they've supposedly been passing it on. I'm sure they're all tired of people complaining about the lines and Easy level lock. Though all the guests I've talked to have been nice about it.

I had my first CM tell me my idea would probably never be implemented. But he also seemed to think Medium and Hard were never coming back. ...

I just wanted to put my thoughts here. I love the idea of holding the key to the portal to skip the story. I cant tell you how many times I've beaten the game. I was at the parks today for SWW and kept swapping parks hoping to find one not so crowded! It's impossible to do ANYTHING at MK on days like today when pirates and haunted mansion have an hour wait you arnt going to do anything! I've also noticed (and this may just be me here) if you play the game at night during the parade and fireworks there are little to no lines and can breeze past the game in 2hours!

True a skip card would be an exceptional set up, or they can do the check mark at the start of day. I just wish they had ANY solution coming and it sometimes feels like it will never happen. Truly wish now that I'd started playing during beta not just for the cards but to ask about this stuff when it was still being listened to and tampered with. I was there all the time and never played. January 8th was my GF birthday and we were invited to try it and I was THRILLED but she rightly didnt want to spend birthday doing it. And we were there many times after and didn't jump in. I never see anyone with anything to do in the actual park, just the CMs at Firehouse and Liberty kiosk. No nice survey people or people with tablets observing to tel lour woes to.

OH! And I've been there many times at night and the only problem I have is waiting to get around the long and slow moving Main Street electrical Parade to get to another park or portal. Or getting shut out of Fantasyland for fireworks. They're at 10 and the other day I couldn't get in at 8:27! Kind of frustrating.
