I think he's closer to the Oregon Duck Mascot than anything. I actually think that mascot is modeled from Donald

I didnt think much of these when I saw the Pluto scrapper but seeing these four (especially Goofy with the 'finger') has changed my mind!

I wasn't too fond of the (scrapper) Pluto design initially, but now that I've seen them all and with their accessories... love them!! I think Mickey is my favorite followed by Goofy.

Would have preferred a retail price of $10.95, but I guess those accessories warrant the $12.95 price tag.

now i've seen the 4, i'm still not 100% on them and think they are going to be a skip for me... they don't really mean anything to me, I like the foam hands but I'm used to having my Undertaker or Rob Van Dam foam fingers/thumbs lol... is it me or are they all pretty angry looking?

That's because the Oregon mascot WAS Donald (until 2010). Walt himself gave the school permission to use Donald back in the 40s (I believe). In 2010, Oregon & Disney ended the agreement but they can still use the logo with Donald in it:





As for the resemblance to Sebastian, I definitely see it. Especially with the hat:

I was surprised that it's this late into release day and there's no comments on the series yet! Granted, when I picked up Mickey and Pluto today at 1:30, the cast members told me I was the first person to buy any. Guess these just aren't that popular. I really like them though.

I thought it was interesting to note that the accesories aren't really accesories. They're molded or glued onto the figure. Every Pluto our store had, had a little drop of glue coming from where the flag and his mouth meet. I'm just gonna call it doggy drool. I'll unbox tonight when She gets home and take some pictures for everyone. I might have to go back to the store just to pick up goofy and his specially molded arm (the foam finger).

I picked up Goofy and Pluto but I have not a chance to really look them over. They are adorable though. My store didn't even have them displayed yet. They asked me which one I wanted and brought them out for me. Never got a chance to see Mickey or Donald.

I don't think it has anything to do with them being unpopular. I think it's more about them being open edition, and people knowing now tha they will eventually be able to get them on sale at some point.

They did have a TON of these like at least 20 of each one and our store only averages 3 trays per blind box release.

I have to say Sebastian is a much more handsome duck than that Oregon guy..... We got some canes over here whoosh whoosh!

Sebastian isn't a duck though...he's an Ibis.


With regards to the set, I'm definitely planning on getting these. I like the vintage look they have.

I didn't even notice Mickey or Goofy in the D-Street display yesterday. Pluto and Donald were on a low shelf, near the floor, under all the Uncle Sams in the "new vinyls" display island, but I didn't see Mickey or Goofy. Granted, I wasn't looking for any yet - as JTChief82 alluded, there's not much urgency, for me anyway, with open edition series that I'm not completely sold on.
