4/27/12 - New Park Series 9" Revealed

On the far left you have the 9" Contemporary Hotel and 3" Monorail Brown. You will notice that both figures are on the new mold.

On the far right of the picture we have the 9" Castle Birthday Cake from Walt Disney World's 25th Anniversary. Remember when they decorated the castle as a giant pink Birthday cake? This figure is also on the new mold.

Behind the new 3" Perry figure is the 9" Art of Animation Poster figure on the original 9" mold. Before it was the name of a Walt Disney World hotel, the Art of Animation was an exhibit at Disneyland in Tomorrowland that ran through the early and mid '60s.

I was thinking just the Comtemporaray/Monorail set, but Niccy has told me we're getting all three

I want the monorail! I don't collect 9" vinyls so I'll need to find someone who is willing to split with me.

The Contemporary is incredible. I hope these are not priced out of this world.

I'm kind of upset that the 2 I want are the new mold 9" (contemporary and castle) and the art of animation is old mold.... any idea why? I'm going to get both regardless because I love the designs but I just think the 9" new molds are pretty bad but that could just be becauase the Mickey's Revue is pretty bad looking that I'm getting a bad vibe on all of them

I think it's because it's not a P8 design.

I the Contempo/Monorail set. Although I believe that the Monorail color is Gold. I have never seen a Brown colored Monorial in WDW. Please anyone correct me if I'm wrong

Agreed, there is no Monorail Brown and the picture does look gold.

I will get the Castle Cake for sure...though, I dont understand why its missing so much detail. It should have the 25 on it...

The 25 is on it, on the bottom of the belly in the center.

And ugh, the more I look at the Contemporary, the more I like it. I knew this would happen.

I am only getting the Art of Animation, the other 2 I do not like them very much.
They 25th Anniversary ones does not look like the Castle at all...

Oops, yea....then YAY!!! Can't wait. I do think more still could have been done with this though, like some frosting attachments or something.

I don't tend to go for too many 9", but the gold monorail looks good.

I think I'll be trying to get the Contemporary and Monorail combo. The other two are nice, but I'll have to see better pictures before I decide to get them.

I will definitely be getting the Art of Animation 9", and will probably be stuck getting the Contemporary/monorail combo because I love my old monorail vinyls and love the CR. That will be my first new mold 9" vinyl, and it probably will not have many counterparts in the years ahead. I have decided not to purchase them, unless they focus on my absolute favorite resorts/attractions, or portray Donald or Scrooge.

The Castle Birthday Cake 9" just plain looks awful. Looks nothing like the castle, and the lack of detail is pretty amazing (in a really bad way).
