I understand what you are saying, though. I guess since the rest of the season was so shocking (things happened throughout the season that could be considered season finale-type stuff, e.g. Sister Mary Eunice/the devil dying, Dr. Arden killing himself, Lana killing Dr. Thredson, etc.) they wanted to wrap it up in a more calm manner. I do use the term "calm" loosely here.
