Awesome! Nice work. I like that we can see the overall score for each vinyl. Looks like Oopsy has the lead in overall best design. Can't argue with that, it is one of my favorite figures. Looking forward to what Paint Drip Mickey scores.

It's interesting when the chasers are not #1. Makes you wonder how much Oopsy would be worth if it were the U1 chaser..my bet is about the same as balloon.

Awesome work! I love seeing everything laid out like this. My only minor gripe (as a statistics nut) is that in P2 if there is a tie for #5, then, technically, Mike W. is #7 not #6 (and everyone else gets shifted down, as well).

Not sure about everyone else, but I tried to be as objective as possible when voting on these. I voted as to whether it was a good design and translated to the canvas well, not simply if I like it or not.

I like to think I did that but I know there have been a few that I have let other factors have their influence. I know that the Penny Machine got the score from me that it did because I went over the design in more detail than I have with any other figure.

I tried to do that to an extent, but for me it's hard to remove how I feel about the vinyl when thinking about a "good design." Personally, if I like the vinyl/design, to me, that's a good design. If I don't like it or don't connect with it, that's not as good of a design.

I think that personal taste is a factor that is ok to use to evaluate the designs along with the factors that Allotes stated. I have given pieces that I like higher or lower scores because of these factors. I really just don't want anyone to base their opinions on Values or Overproduction.

I totally agree, JT! I didn't base any of my opinions on mass market appeal and/or value and/or overproduction. I hope everyone understood that was the point of your adventure.

Same here. I have yet to give a single figure a 5 score. There have been several 4s, which is a very good design. A 5 score means it's perfect and there's nothing that could have made it better. There are a few designs I think are perfect, but none of them have showed up yet.

I also compare the designs from back then to the designs that they're capable of now. I'm sure Glow Mickey was awesome in the first series because it glowed in the dark, but now you can just buy a CYO glow in the dark and paint eyes on it, so I gave that design a 1.

Well the great thing about averages is you don't need to have a certain number to do them. I don't think you need to wait to get 50 responses to average them.

You have a point, but since the previous threads were able to get to 50 I want to stay as consistent as possible. We will get there eventually

You know what would be interesting...not saying to actually do it or anything..but..polling family members or someone else that knows what vinyls are but does NOT know what series they are from, what their values are, or how common they are. Sometimes I wonder how much my judgement is clouded by over-seeing a certain design.

You know what would be interesting...not saying to actually do it or anything..but..polling family members or someone else that knows what vinyls are but does NOT know what series they are from, what their values are, or how common they are. Sometimes I wonder how much my judgement is clouded by overseeing a certain design.
What do you mean by "overseeing" a certain design? Is there someting we don't know about you

I think everyones perspective would be different. Again, "current values" should not change anyones opinion of a design when it comes to doing these surveys.

over-seeing I should have said. I mean sometimes I think I get sick of seeing something and start to think less of the design. That's why it would be interesting to get unbiased opinions without much prior knowledge of vinylmation.

In respect to that I don't see any reason that should not be a factor. It actually gives you a better perspective on the design one way or the other. Some you may love at first but then realize they aren't as good as you thought, or you may not like something at first and it grows on you.

U2 and P3 averages have been added. We have a new lowest score (U2 Green Gear)

I will get the next sets posted for voting by tomorrow. Next up will be Park 4, Urban 3, and Jr's Series 1

I'm surprised Park 3 was so low. Granted, there aren't any real standout pieces (although I have high opinions of both Herbie and Elephant Bathing Pool), but it's not a bad set as a whole.

I don't see Park 3 as a Bad set at all. On thing I think hurts it is the connection to some of the designs such as Toontown Trolly, America Sings, and Mission Space. Other designs I think have been affected by newer designs that show how much better they "could have been". Like the Pirate, and Castle Turret.

I agree, as I started out mostly as a vinylmation trader, I have gotten really sick of some designs just because it has been traded repeatedly. I love the attraction Carousel of Progress, but at one point, you couldn't trade without getting one or five a day ! Same goes for America Sings. You can really tell who the filler is just by trading. And when it isn't the most attractive filler..... (Phil of Animation 1).....
