New Brave Meet and Greet Coming to WDW and DLR

    http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blo...-disney-parks/

Beginning in mid-May, Merida will be coming to Disney Parks in an all-new character greeting experience.

At Magic Kingdom Park, Merida will appear in Fairytale Garden in a setting inspired by her Scottish Highlands home, where young guests will be invited to engage in archery lessons and other activities until it’s their turn to meet her. Joining Merida will be the three bear cubs from the film, who will no doubt be up to plenty of mischief.

When visiting Disneyland park in California this summer, Merida and the cubs will find a home away from home near “it’s a small world” in Fantasyland, where guests will also be able to participate in activities inspired by Merida’s story.

Sucks to be Rapunzel. I guess she'll have to find a new meet and greet spot.

Am I alone in thinking Brave might be kind of a flop? It seems ... I don't know, derivative. And the trailers so far haven't looked particularly interesting.

That's how I felt about the trailers for Tangled when they first started popping up. I think it's a new thing to make their early trailers really vague.

From what I've read so far, Rapunzel and Flynn (! He's baaaack) will be moving to the Adventureland Veranda, while Ariel and Eric move to that little inset area slightly past Aloha Isle and across from the treehouse.

I'm interested in seeing Brave because it seems like a "girl power" movie from the trailers so far. I'm willing to give every new Disney movie a shot. Whether I like itor not is a different story..

I don't know if you are familiar with the Song of Ice and Fire books series (they are now being made into A Game of Thrones, the show) but there is a character called Ygritte who is described as looking quite a lot like Merida and another character called Arya who's personality is very similar to what we know about Merida. And both are characters who break a lot of the gender stereotypes that exist in their time (and ours, unfortunately). So that's an entire other reason for me to be really interested! I just think it will be a really fun movie and nice for Pixar to finally have a leading female role.

..... I'm IN LOVE with the ASong of Ice and Fire books! I agree with Merida being I Disney, kid-friendly version of Aria. I just started the third book and don't really remember Ygritte.. I may not have gotten to her or just forgot there's so many damn characters I can't keep up sometimes! I'm actually downloading season 1 onto my iPad as I type! Lol but back to this new meet n greet section, I wonder if it'll be there still in May 2013.. That looks to be my nearest WDW trip

She's in the third book! She's in the second one for just a quick minute, she plays a huge role in the 3rd one.

I hope so, because that seems about when I'll be able to go back too! I think she'll stay there for a while, with Ariel and Rapunzel eventually moving into the meet and greet area they have planned when Snow White's Scary Adventures is currently.

All I'm saying is it's an interesting take on the Highlands of Scotland - coming from someone who grew up in the highlands of Scotland and had a father who was a tour guide so got to see a lot of pics and film footage based on the highlands of that kind of time... could be wrong especially as it's only an artists rendering but to me it looks more like the camp from the latest film version of the lion the witch and the wardrobe lol

Plus I haven't heard of brave yet which may be another reason this is lost on me... will have to look into it at some point.

Thanks mate... had a look at all the posts and videos but really not sure about it to be honest, to me it's kinda like having a Disney horror film... something just doesn't quite fit... if you get what I mean but then I guess it's always going to be hard to accept something that feels very watered down when it's something to do with your personal heritage.
