Great work mama, crazybones, and Phylers.
I agree for the most part on the Cars Monorail series. The only thing that I am optimistic about is the future series that might show up on this mold. I don't know if they could have started much worse though.![]()

Excellent DYST as always!!! I agree with Phylers take on the Monorails being very good Toys. I'm really trying to avoid the kids from seeing these. But I still kinda want a Chick Hicks

Great article, as always, guys!
Just for the record, my stack of frequent flier miles is dwindling quickly, simply because I keep using them all up to randomly go to Orlando every few weeksIf you would have told me this a year ago, I would have totally laughed at you... I blame (and thank!) The 'Nation for this!

"many of us believed this would mean a set of the traditional Mickey figure Vinylmations representing our favorite monorail designs as previous Park Series have done before. ... I understand that Vinylmation is a brand that is marketing a variety of products, but I am not a fan of this new series at all." mamawantsvinyls
I definitely thought so.. I don't know why in retrospect I thought this would be the case. I am in the camp of thinking this should have been a completely different brand - made of vinyl or not.
"...the relatively flat canvas doesn’t really excite me about the artists having to show a great deal of skill or creativity, and the shape itself isn’t something I’d readily associate with Disney." Phylers
YES! Thank you for spelling it out and proving why this doesn't work. We appreciate CREATIVITY!
"As we’ve learned from the many forum members who double as parents, the Mickey mold’s detachable arms do present a choking hazard for especially young kids who might be inclined to remove them. The Monorail Series, at least that we’ve seen, feature no removable (or movable, for that matter) parts. Add that they’re wrapped in characters that kids love, and I could see these succeeding as playthings." Phylers
This is a fantastic point that I, as a single young woman with no children, did not think of. I think this is also why it should be a completely different brand.
"The Alice in Wonderland characters just didn’t translate well to the plush form in my opinion" mamawantsvinyls
"...once you actually hold one they are actually very well made ... I think they chose the right characters from all the movies to include in the series." Crazybones27
They are actually very nicely made in real life! My sister even said so, and she's not a fan of any of this, haha. I do agree with Phylers that it was Alice overkill, and I love AiW! They didn't translate well to these mini plushes. Sometimes characters don't on the usual ~$8 Disney Store mini plushes they sell. The TS ones look AMAZING though! They certainly did choose great characters that really represent the movies well. I can't believe the big display plush doesn't have velcro! What a disappointment. I was thinking of getting the sheriff's badge since I want the whole series for TS. Boo.
