Stopped by dstreet after work tonight intending to pick up a couple of gifts for a friend. Saw Holiday 3 on the shelves and walked out spending $100 more than I intended to! Usually don't spend that much during the week. Averages about $30 per week maybe.

I've just started recently but I have decided no more that $30 a week, either 2 full priced ones at the local DS or $30 on eBay which so far has been pretty good deals...all under $5 and since I am just starting they are all good to me so far haha

I know I did a similar thing when i started, with so many new releases and so many great ones available, its hard to pick what to get, going after some cheaper ones to begin with gets the collection growing fast, though you can always trade them later if you don't want them any more but after a while, I now focus on the ones I like rather than just anything that's cheap.

I tend to go more mad with my vinyl purchases when i'm in a park, that does not happen often so i spend about £30 a month now

i've cut back and probably average $10 or less a week so far in 2012

it's so inconsistent b/c it's based on release dates...as well as our infrequent trips to WDW (2-3 times per year). those are always the spikes in my spending. i would suppose if you average everything out, it's probably only $10-$15/week for me. but that doesn't really tell the story. just ask my wife! when i drop $300 on a case at WDW or the DS, she's not really in the mood to hear 'but i only avg about $10/week'!!

what a depressing topic...who thought of this, anyway??!!

Last year it was high, $75-$100 a week. We have cut back and now rarely spend any money on vinyls only when there is a sale or something we really want. Yesterday we bought the 25th anniversary vinyl at the store and ordered the new D23 vinyl.

We happen to enjoy collecting and trading Vinylmations.
Every time someone in the family starts giving me grief about my VMs, I (politely) point out the collections they have and how it's usually much more per item than my VM addiction (and yes, I know it's an addiction when the first think I look at and last thing I read is on VN). That usually gets them to back off. Plus, these little buddies make me smile, so how can you put a price on that? I'm a grown up and take care of my responsibilities, so why not let me splurge every once and a while?

phew! That's a LOT!! But Vinylmation is addicting, so more power to you!

I spent over $500 this week on Vinyls, one of them was a case, the others were blind purchases, and the new Alice in Wonderland Flowers (set of 4)

I also have other hobbies, including Video games, but I'm trying to balance out the 2, they can get expensive!

My significant other (while eye rolling at the collection) can't get too upset with me knowing I'm very responsible financially

Damn! Are you guys buying a lot of your vinyls on ebay, or auction sites, or are these all in store purchases? Would love to see pics of what you purchased!

My purchases take place all over. Some on ebay, some on the site, some from ds.com, some from friends at disneyland etc. Its been an expensive week and next week I am sure will be equally expensive if not more.

I own a sealed tray of everything that has been released, except last fall I fell behind so I have been playing catch up.

Wow that's awesome!! You are so lucky to own a sealed tray of everything released, hold onto those tightly, they'll be worth a pretty penny some day (and some already are!)

I spent $400 last week on Vinylmation as I just got fully into collecting. This week so far $0. Next week is the trip to Disney Land so I will probably easily spend $1000.

Unfortunately, I'm not one for the preservation of money so between Vinylmations, Batman comics, Masters of the Universe Classics, Batman Statues etc. I spend anywhere from $500 to $1,000 a month. As they say you can't take it with you. :*)

I've been collecting for 3 months and so far spent more on Vinylations than I did for the first new car that I purchased (and it took me 3 years to pay off the car). Averaging about 100 vinyls a week so far but I figure this will slow down a bit by the Fall.

This past week was really expensive but my collection is growing, I need to slow down because I have decided quality is more important than sheer quantity of ones I don't want..saying that I kind of want all of them so this makes it difficult!

Ranges anywhere from $0 (when I'm home and have what I want from everything that's out, and refuse to acknowledge eBay) to $500 (when I'm in the parks and want a case of this, and two of that two-pack, some of this window box series, plus a bunch of blind boxes.... And on and on) and I just don't care because my heart swells with pride and joy when I look at my collection

I have 'completed' most of the set except Urban 1 and Juniors 2. The hitch is that I still don't have a lot of the variants and I don't have most of the early 9"s. I kind of moves the collecting into a new phase because a lot of the folks that have variants aren't to interested in the commons from anything beyond Park 2.
