    Frankenweenie - Disney & Tim Burton - October 5, 2012

Really looking forward to watching this movie

    http://disney.go.com/frankenweenie/?...v_trailer_Extl

From creative genius Tim Burton ("Alice in Wonderland," "The Nightmare Before Christmas") comes Frankenweenie, a heartwarming tale about a boy and his dog. After unexpectedly losing his beloved dog Sparky, young Victor harnesses the power of science to bring his best friend back to life—with just a few minor adjustments. He tries to hide his home-sewn creation, but when Sparky gets out, Victor's fellow students, teachers and the entire town all learn that getting a new "leash on life" can be monstrous.

You'd have to give me money to watch this movie; I wouldn't even take a free ticket - someone would have to give me money on top of that.

We saw a trailer before John Carter this afternoon, and I just cannot take movies where the dog dies.

(Full disclosure - I also don't like Tim Burton. Ed Wood is his only great movie).

He was much better before studios started giving him free reign (or before he had the money to pretty much ignore the studios). Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was just a travesty when compared to the original film.

When I first saw the trailer for this it was the night after my best friend Oreo died and it just seemed so relevant it was scary, not a Burton fan but will see it for the concept alone

Only Tim Burton would remake his own movie.

I guess it's not technically a remake because the original was a short film, but whatever. Excited to see it, nonetheless. I will forever adore stop motion animation.

    Sorry.

The voice casting, the songs ... I just can't get behind any of it. I'll admit that it looks good, but take out Zero, and I'd call the whole thing a loss. (Guess that gives away the lone Nightmare Before Christmas vinyl in my collection. )

Looking forward to this -- I remember seeing some Frankenweenie stuff at his exhibit at MOMA. Big Tim Burton fan and I love that the short film that originally got him fired from Disney is now being released by the company. I'm glad they invested in this, it'll do well in the Box Office.

I was stunned to see them release a $250 million BOMB in John Carter especially when they put The Lone Ranger on hold, which is bound to be a hit with Johnny Depp. The company said they wanted to find new characters/stories but Mars Needs Moms (BOMB), Secret World of Arrietty (BOMB), and now Mars (BOMB) is a terrible trend. They'd be better just to release classic films as 3D IMO.

Sorry for being negative but just want to see the Disney I love, not Marvel/Sci Fi/etc. I know someone might have a rebuttal about Tim Burton but he's worked with Disney in the 80s!

So excited for this! I like Tim Burton and I really like the quirkiness he brings to his films! It's also pretty exciting to have this movie coming out soon... My daughters ballet class is dancing in their winter show to a song from Nightmare before Christmas... so we've been inundated with Nightmare stuff!

I haven't had time I want to see it so badly but we're sooooo booked up over the next few weeks!! I'm disappointed it did so poorly at the box office, even though it got great reviews. I always want movies I love (well, I'm assuming I'll love it - I don't think that's too much of a stretch for me ) to do well at the box office.
