    Disney's Cutesations Plush - Blind-boxed Plush

I got a recent text from a concerned friend who saw these on DisneyStore.com: Disney Cutesations blind-boxed plushes.

According to the listing, they're 5" tall (which is called the tiniest plush size ever; clearly incorrect hyperbole), blind-boxed, and soft-filled (so no beans). They're Disney Store online and brick-and-mortar exclusives, and if you buy all 8, there's a plush mushroom display stand. Oh, and they're $6.50.

So here's my question: does the blind-box concept extend to plush? Related, why the push on Alice all of a sudden? To me, there's a such thing as too much synergy.

Further, how long until the littlest CrazyChiefs have a complete collection?

I saw these yesterday on Twitter and went I know the minute Crazy Jr. sees these she will be all over them.

Now seeing them closer they are all very Cute except for the Queen which I guess is proper. Not really sure why another Alice, but I think the Blind Boxing works ONLY if they are planning on having some type of trading system in the works. I also read that the Mushroom is about $16 on top of buying the set. I wonder how you know you have a set, unless they will be sold as a set and singley in a tray of 16 as shown?

At $6.50 I don't mind that the mystery box concept has extended to plush. These Alice toys don't entice me, but let's get a classic Mickey and Friends collection out and I'll be sold.

I'm thinking the mushroom will have to come packaged with a full set, as I saw no option to buy a whole tray. I also heard it would be pretty significantly priced.

Maybe it's a bit cynical of me, but I see it as a bunch of people in a room finding a way for Disney to indoctrinate younger collectors with the blind box concept.

I am sort of enticed by the idea but definitely not Alice in Wonderland. If it was Hercules (so under appreciated ), Lion King or even classic Mickey I'd be interested.

I think it's a cute idea, but they look a lot to me like plushes of the characters they already sell, just tiny. I wonder if they have some sort of foil around them like vinylmations do? Otherwise it would be very easy for someone to peak and cheat.

I'm slightly unsettled by the unsavory look the Queen of Hearts has. I think she's planning on gobbling up a Tweedle.

I think it's a cute idea and the price point is not bad. I'm just not a big fan of AIW but if they did a Pooh and friends I would probably cave and buy a few.

Not for me. I dont like stuffed animals / plush animals or whatever you call them. But I am sure people will love them. Kids may actually take to them better than Vinylmation toys.

See, to me, most of them look like Pook-a-loos. I wouldn't be surprised if there were going to be the next introduction of Pooks but since they didn't sell, they had to re-brand them. And hey look! The Blind Box thing seems to be working, let's throw them in boxes and people will eat them up.

Needless to say, the Pony Reporter is not impressed.

Eh. Nothing exciting. Some of the designs aren't so cute (Cheshire's face is just so distorted!) nor could I see these catch on. Maybe if it was for another series, particularly that Fab Five idea.

While I think these are cute, they're not my style and I am glad to be saving money since I collect VM and Pop Vinyls. Should be interesting if they continue and expand these! The stand is cute.

they're cute, but they dont interest me :/ I'd rather have vinyls than stuffed animals, they feel more "collectable" I mean unless I were to treat these things as some super awesome beanie baby, but they just dont strike me that way so I think ill pass, even on future series.

No, I saw that, too. It's the angle of the one picture coupled with the field detail on the lid, I think. Straight on, they look more like tiny shoeboxes, but that could just be me.

I added the pic of the mushroom to the first post. At $79.50 for the mushroom and one set, it still seems too steep for me.

Ok so upon further look... I still think they are cute... They could have been a little better, but for the price they are ok... However, I agree with Phylers you add the plush Shroom and it starts going a bit steep..

I think these are adorable, especially the white rabbit and the caterpillar. I love the packaging, it reminds me of shoeboxes. I agree that Alice looks weird though. I'm a huge plush fan, so I'm definitely getting a couple. I hope these are more successful than palz.

Well, this statement came true. Our daughter saw the pics of these on this thread and immediately wanted Alice. Tonight when we went to our local DS to pick up some A2, the first thing crazy Jr. saw was the display of the Cutesations on the Mushroom Plush. She went right to the Alice one expressing how much she wanted it. So we let her pick one box. Her pick turned out to be a Tweedle Dum. Needlessto say there was some dissapointment. We had dinner and walked the Mall for a little bit. crazybones then took her back to the Disney Store so that she could pick another while I took Chief Jr. to the car. The wound up picking 2 since crazy Jr. didn't want to leave her brother out, and got a Caterpillar and a Queen. Again dissapointment, but both kids have been playing with them all since we got home, so I think we will be fine util crazy Jr. sees Alice again

I will say that they are much nicer than I expected. They are definitely fo the little ones, but I would love if Disney somehow came up with a trading sysem. Or maybe if they take off with more series, some trading could happen here.

I am really excited about these! A really neat idea, and I love the price compared to another blind box item I collect! Luckily, I am not too into Alice in Wonderland. I am afraid of what will happen if a Toy Story series is released though...

Uh Oh then you're in trouble!!! TS cutesations have been spotted in Tokyo!!

I have to be honest, we've been avoiding these (much like we spent a year walking out of every store in the parks and our local store scratching our heads about these weird little Mickey's that were kind of ugly but kind of cute) but now that our local DS has nothing in the vinylmation department, we may have to start buying them to keep the store in business!!!
