How is the Weather in Winter? O_O

    Hello,

My family is paying me a visit this December and I'm planning to take them to Disney World

However I'm not sure if the weather permits.. how is the weather down there usually in December? My parents are not used to cold weather; we are all coming from a tropical country in equator :/

    Thanks!

It does get cold in Orlando in December/January. We were there two years ago and in early January it got down to absolute freezing and they had to close all the water rides at all the parks.

However, that being said - just wear layers of clothes and make sure you have heating at whatever accommodation you book.

December is a magical time to visit WDW, with all the parades, lights, Xmas trees and it is well worth visiting - just take hats, scarves and gloves and thermal underwear!

Definitely make sure you have a few layers so you're prepared. You can always take a few off if you need if it's to warm. I wouldn't buy snow boots or anything

The idea of it being cold in Disney is so foreign to me

Yeah - I would say slim chance. Cold but mild, can't remember much rain the year we were there but there was one tornado that went thru slightly up from WDW but it passed quickly.

It really depends. Sometimes it is a little cool and other years I have been there it has been really chilly, especially at night... like almost in the 30s! Usually it is pretty sunny in the day and walking around so much with that sun it can feel comfortably warm. Definitely prepare to have some layers in case it does get chilly as the days go on. Dec- Jan is my favorite time to go. I feel like I have way more energy to endure long hours in the parks when it is cooler Have fun!

One more random question: how many days do you usually spend in DisneyWorld? It's going to be my family's 1st trip, so is 5 days enough?

You can spend 5 or 15 days in Orlando - there is so much to do - but you just need to prioritize what you want to do.

If I was there for only 5 days I would spend 1 day in each of the 4 Disney parks and the last day at Downtown Disney. If you can push your trip out to say 7 days I would definitely go to Universal Islands of Adventure and see Harry Potter World and also have dinner at Bubba Gumps there.

I'll be going in January. Hoping the weather is nice. When I went last October it was too hot and humid. If its cooler I feel like ill be able to enjoy it more.
