2012 Marathon Vinylmations

Giving a new home thread for some new vinylmations previewed at Florida Project (if there is already an existing one, feel free to direct me to it )


From Phylers Report on the Event:

Shortly after, just after New Year, Walt Disney World will be awash in runners for the annual Walt Disney World Marathon, and the 2012 Marathon Vinylmations will naturally follow. In order of distance:

All of the dates correspond to the race dates, and in a very cool design element, the times on the stopwatches correspond to the years each character – Donald Duck for the Half Marathon, Mickey for the Marathon, and Goofy for the Goofy Challenge – was created.

I don't have any connection to the actual marathon events, but I really do like the way they did these vinyls- especially the mickey one!

I really love these vinyls. I have been thinking about running the Half Marathon (but it's SO expensive.. ugh!), and this is giving me a little push to perhaps do it since that's the only way I'd get the vinyl....

I ran the Half at disneyland a few weeks ago and got the vinyl for that one, i would love to get a donald one and would be perfect for me going first time ever to WDW and after graduation. I need to plan a trip. especially since p7 and p8 is WDW stuff i need to know if there is something i love represented in vinylmation.

Picked up both 3" vinyls today and love them! Had a bit of a struggle getting to Wide World of Sports with all the runners picking up goodie bags and merchandise but these are the best marathon vinyls so far in my opinion. My husband is an avid runner and we live very close to WDW so they were must haves

Anyone else grab one today? The 9" is really awesome too, it's Goofy with an orange outfit. The goofy race is for people who run the half marathon, 13.1 miles (today) and then the full marathon, 26.2 miles (tomorrow)

This might be a REALLY stupid question but where do you buy the marathon vinyls? Can you only get them at this marathon? :O

In October 2011, I picked up the 2011 race figures at the Disney Outlet store near the parks - Vineland Rd????? I wonder if there will be some for the same kind of scenario this year?

Does anyone know why these have been so hard to come by on ebay so far? The race was about a month ago right? I'm a sucker for these type of boxed vinyls and these are the only 2 I'm missing from a full set. The other marathon ones aren't that rare at all.

It usually takes them a bit to get from the race to D-Street, and then the outlets. I bet they will be in D-Street by the end of February to get the Princess Half Marathon crowd.

The 3 inchers came and went from DStreet. I picked em up on Rescuers Day. 1 of each except the 9 incher. We went the next day to get another Donald and they were gone.

As of yesterday, they had plenty of Goofys.

Unless they really cut back on production, they'll be back Marathon vinyls will pop up everywhere by summer

Photos of the vinyls are available on the first post of this thread if you haven't seen what they looked like yet. Also, there are a few on eBay, but all I see is the half marathon right now.

Yeah, I guess I'll have to hope some more full marathon ones pop up. Marathons seem to be more of a buy for then trade for vinyl.

Do they have these at DLR for the marathons there? My teacher ran the marathon at DLR and I wonder if they gave him a Vinyl (if they have it for DLR).
