This series made a huge resurgence at WDW in the last few weeks and seems to be everywhere! It'll probably be a while before they're discounted. Park 7, for example, has been sold out since February, but only in the last week has the topper been less than the original retail.

So these are still plentiful at the Parks? We haven't had them at our local Disney Store since before the summer. I don't understand why they wouldn't ship some of these to Disney Stores to try and get rid of them.
Was at D-street Anaheim last week and it was there. They were all over the parks but I have seen pictures from WDW that they are all over the place. Its kinda wierd to have these everywhere when Animation 3 comes out next month but its a great series so its good for all those who missed out.

Yeah Animation 2 is everywhere at WDW. Was surprised at the amount considering A3 is coming soon, yes.
It kind of makes sense from a sales standpoint. A lot of Animation 2 and 3 is interconnected, and if I were Disney, I'd want people to see that, "oh, if I want the Caballeros, I need to buy Animation 2 to find Jose and Animation 3 to find Panchito (and presumably 4 for Donald)," or, "hey, I got Mowgli, but Baloo is in Animation 2!" One could lead to sales of the other, especially when new collectors are considered.

Would be interesting to see if they wind up doing a BOGO of Buy one A2 get one A3 free.
For some reason I don't see them doing it with the Animation series, but if they did they'd probably do a buy A3 to get A2 for free since A2 is older.

I agree with crazybones27. Why would they sell a older release and give away a brand new release for free?
