tokyo disneyland and disney sea is awesome! i only have been once, but its a great experience.

i didn't stay at the official resort hotels...i stayed at hilton tokyo bay which is on the monorail line and you get one early morning entry, so that was awesome.

the disneyland hotel is literally right outside the disneyland gates (it's closer than dca is to disneyland ) and it looks beautiful, so i would want to stay there.

if you go to disneyland, the crowds are ridiculous. you will need to run for a fastpass for monster's inc or pooh's hunny hunt (a must do...the best ride anywhere in my opinion). the fastpasses ran out really quickly for both those rides...in fact, there were 30 minute waits just to get a fastpass! tokyo disneysea is beautiful and wasn't nearly as crowded as disneyland.

i didn't eat a lot of food there, since i went with a vegan friend and there's only one option in each park for vegan food. definitely get some flavored popcorn and the cool buckets they come in. they have curry popcorn, strawberry popcorn, honey popcorn. my favorite was soy sauce (shoyu) butter popcorn. also, i wanted to try the footlong gyoza but didn't get a chance to

    have a great trip.

I went to Disney Sea about 4 years ago, I was just staying in downtown Tokyo and caught their free bus from the hotel as they have lots of pickup points throughout the city. I was only in the country for less than a week so wanted to visit something different compared to the "normal" disneyland park. Obviously things change, but I found the park I was in to be very quiet in the morning (depends on what time you visit) and because I was there at the start of the day I will admit it took a few hours before I noticed another Western tourist (who acknowledged me back). The big water show that takes place on the lake is fantastic and the whole feel to the park felt great. Food wise I do remember being able to get a fairly healthy decent lunch and I think just some junk food for dinner. The night fireworks/light display was excellent too. I also remember that the tarzan/jungle show was excellent, There was a big disneystore/disney village outside the entrances to the park. I was able to communicate with most cast members but their english wasn't fantastic. (and because I was on my own at the time I was often escorted by the cast members which certainly made me feel special) Also never say "keep the change" or "tip" as its viewed as a insult, I caused quite some problem while buying a ice cream with all the queue trying to explain that that I must take the coppers....

Here are a few of my holiday snaps that i had to hand.

I too stayed at the Hitlon Tokyo Bay. It was really a fantastic hotel. Beautiful property, and the closest to the "other resorts" Monorail stop - literally just across the street. Our room was spacious (rare for Japan) and very comfortable for an American who - at the time - had never traveled abroad. Our first choice was to stay at Tokyo DisneySea Hotel Mira Costa - but even with advanced planning, the place was booked full. We found their rooms to be extremely expensive as well when just looking at the prices. Tokyo Disneyland Hotel was not built yet, but I would anticipate a similar if not higher nightly rate there. I'm all about Disney resorts when I can make it happen, but honestly, give some real consideration to Hilton Tokyo Bay!
