Based on conversations I have with friends who attend Disneyland Park and polls at this website, there seems to be little love for Innoventions and much interest by these guests to refresh the attraction. With Disney now being a parent company of Marvel I'd like to suggest this attraction.
I know a Marvel attraction in a Disney park may get some of us nervous but let me explain to you what the Stark Expo is before you make a decision!
The Stark Expo was modeled after the New York Worlds Fair in the film Iron Man 2. The New York Worlds Fair served as a foundation for aspects of Disneyland and, later, Disney World. It was also the birthplace of Disney technologies like "Audio-Animatronics.”
New York Worlds Fair
The Stark Expo is an excellent match to update Innoventions. Because it so closely mirrors The New York Worlds Fair. It gives us a place to continue witnessing presentations of innovative technology and an opportunity to show us where Disney technology came from & where it's headed. (Including Iron Man technology just for kicks)
I believe it makes more sense then a "ride" featuring Hulk or the X-Men anywhere else in the parks. A Stark Expo can be classy without being too in your face with Marvel Mania or overload.
If Disney wanted to do a bare minimum facelift to the existing attraction they could do two things:
1. Change the Queue Video to a Stark Video
2. Replace the Tom robot with Tony Stark next to or in an Iron Man suit. (Maybe in the suit but helmet removed)
Then the rest of the attraction can remain pretty much the same or change on their discretion. Keeping the theme on innovation and technology nicely. Tony Stark's Audio Animatronic could even say something along the lines of "I'd like to thank Disneyland for hosting this years Stark Expo in Tomorrow Land. A place where dreaming and looking towards the Future is encouraged everyday to build a great big beautiful tomorrow."
Like what I did there? Funny enough the Sherman Brothers wrote Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow for the 1964/1965 NY Worlds Fair.
Robert Sherman also wrote the lyrics and composed the song Make Way for Tomorrow Today for Iron Man 2. The new song can be heard in it's entirety in the Iron Man 2 credits or listen to it here! The song is used for the Stark Expo footage created for the film!
Also, Howard Stark (Tony Stark's Dad) was modeled after Walt Disney in the film Iron Man 2. If there is only one Marvel attraction that would be well suited for Disneyland it would be Stark Expo.
