    Disney Fantasy: New Details Revealed!!

Blog readers…I wrote my first Disney Parks Blog post sharing exciting details about the Disney Dream. Today, I get to share details on her sister ship – the Disney Fantasy!

With the Disney Fantasy, guests will have a full seven days to explore every nook and cranny of the ship. The Fantasy will bring to life many of the same innovative features and guest favorites from the Disney Dream, including the AquaDuck water coaster, Magical Portholes inside the staterooms and Enchanted Art throughout the ship. In addition, I want to share some new design elements and experiences that will give the Fantasy an identity all its own.

One of my favorite new highlights is “Animation Magic” at Animator’s Palate. This is a dinner show that celebrates the magic of Disney animation and allows families to participate in a unique new way. Everyone will be a “guest animator,” as they will be invited to draw a character of their own using a simple template on their placemat. Later, these sketches will be revealed on several large screens along the walls to join in an animated sequence with beloved Disney characters. Check out this photo that illustrates some of the magic that will dazzle guests during their dining experience.

Adults – another new element aboard the Disney Fantasy is just for you…it’s a nighttime entertainment district called Europa. Guests 18 and older can escape and enjoy a collection of sophisticated bars and trendy lounges inspired by European travel. La Piazza is themed after Italian cities and their decorative outdoor plazas. Skyline is a chic bar that provides birds-eye views of stunning European city skylines that transform from day to night. O’Gill’s Pub is a rollicking Irish bar with modern day twists. Ooh La La is inspired by an elegant French boudoir adorned with velvet tufted walls. And finally, The Tube transports guests to a vibrant metropolitan club via the London Underground. Here’s a sneak peek…

We also have a new surprise that will delight our younger cruisers – Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique! At this very special salon, aspiring young princesses and pirates receive the full fairy tale treatment with pixie-dusted and piratical makeovers. After making their royal entrance, young princesses-to-be are greeted by their very own Fairy Godmother-in-training, who will transform them with the most magical makeovers you can imagine.

And on pirate party nights aboard the Disney Fantasy, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique becomes a buccaneer’s dream – Pirate’s League, where we can help guests of all ages prepare for a swashbuckling evening with beards and bandanas, swords and scars, earrings and eye patches and more. If you like dressing up for the occasion, you arrrr going to love this place!

This is only a small sampling of what you can look forward to on the Disney Fantasy – there’s so much more that I can’t wait to share with you. Stay tuned as we continue to unveil additional details!

There's also a bunch of other things that have been released such as some of the other adult clubs, the art style and what version of Minnie is in atrium!

    More info

    Even more stuff

Personally, I'm excited for the Nightclub! It's British!!! And the Fantasy version of "Pink" called "Oh La La". Oh and the Minnie statue

    Disney Fantasy Update :)

I’ve told you about activities for families and children aboard the Disney Fantasy, but now I want to fill you in on a nighttime entertainment district exclusively for adults – Europa. After a fun-filled day, grown-up guests can enjoy five sophisticated bars and trendy lounges inspired by European travel. Imagine this…you’ll be sailing through the Caribbean but feel like you’re in Europe!

La Piazza is modeled after a colorful vintage carousel and draws inspiration from decorative outdoor plazas in cities throughout Italy. Pieces of Italian flair are sprinkled throughout, like Venetian masks and a classic Vespa with a sidecar.

    http://parksandresorts.wdpromedia.co...95642SMALL.jpg

Haven’t been to Paris, London, Barcelona, Athens or St. Petersburg? At Skyline, you can get a glimpse of stunning European cities in panorama as they transform from day to night. This chic bar is a great place to sip a cocktail while enjoying spectacular, ever-changing views through “windows to the world.”

    http://parksandresorts.wdpromedia.co...96323SMALL.jpg

If you’re looking to kick back and have a beer, O’Gill’s Pub is a rollicking Irish bar with a modern-day twist. With a selection of Irish beers, guests can sip a pint while watching a live sporting event on high-definition TVs that line the walls. It’s the perfect pub atmosphere!

    http://parksandresorts.wdpromedia.co...45642SMALL.jpg

Ooh La La exudes a romantic vibe – it’s reminiscent of a French boudoir adorned with velvet tufted walls, Victorian furniture and Louis XIV-style chaise lounges. You’ll also find accents that add to the elegance including ornate framed mirrors, gold details and a bar backed with sparkling diamond-like facets.

    http://parksandresorts.wdpromedia.co...85653SMALL.jpg

You may want to “mind the gap” on your way into The Tube. If you’ve been to London, you’ll immediately recognize the theme of this vibrant metropolitan club. The Tube transports guests to an energetic setting complete with an illuminated Union Jack dance floor and a bar inspired by Big Ben and London’s many train stations. Don’t forget to pose for a photo by the red English phone booth!

    http://parksandresorts.wdpromedia.co...95642SMALL.jpg

Just like traveling through Europe, there’s so much to see and do here – wow! And if you have kids, not to worry. Our dedicated areas for children, tweens and teens are open late so your young ones can have fun and wind down while you’re enjoying a night out.

My wife and I are celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary this time next year and are debating a 7 night Fantasy cruise versus a 3 or 4 night dream cruise with a short WDW stay before and after. Thoughts?

Seven night cruise on the Fantasy. The 3 and 4 night cruises are way too short.

Even if the 7 night means, budget wise, no time in the parks before or after? That is my sticking point. All cruise no parks, or a little of both. Hmmm. Plus, honestly, I'm not too crazy about the 7 night itinerary. My wife points out that it's a Disney ship so the ports won't matter as much as the onboard exerperience - which I suppose is true.

I've been on 3, 4 and 7-night Disney Cruises (on all 3 ships, actually). We went on 4-night Disney Dream cruise in January. I wouldn't recommend the 3-night cruise, since you are in port both days it is just to quick and you hardly get to enjoy the cruise or the ship. The 4-night, with a day at sea, was short but worthwhile. We had been to Nassau on a prior cruise, so spent very little time ashore there, which gave us more time to check out the ship (mornings at port are a good time to ride the Aqua Duck). On the 4-night, we went to the night-club area two nights, but felt like we needed to rush through to see them all. We went to skyline one night and the sports bar another (BCS championship game night) didn't go to the area on the first night, and the pirate night we spent on the main deck. In general, the whole adults only area was very quiet on this cruise. It was still too short, though. We never got to see all of the interactive portraits or play the game with those, for example.

The 7-night cruises are very enjoyable. It gives enough time to really take advantage of the amenities on the ship, including the movie theater and some of the "discussions" on the ship. Sadly, IMO, the 7-day itineraries are getting stale if you have been on them before. There is only so much to do in St. Marteen and St Thomas. We've been to each twice and don't really need to go back to either, although with a really good fare we'd jump on a 7-day Eastern Caribbean cruise on the Fantasy without much thought...go figure. I've heard they may be planning to change the itineraries to reduce/eliminate the stops in Mexico. If they did something like Key West, Grand Cayman, San Juan, and Castaway Cay, that would be a fun itinerary. They may even be able to have one more port. I'd like to go on a Southern Caribbean cruise, like down to Aruba, although those usually need to be 9 nights or more.

In your case, I'd skip the 3-night and take advantage of the 4-night if you haven't been to WDW in a while or take the 7-night if you have the ability to get to WDW at another time. Since you live in FL, you have better access to WDW than others who live farther away.

Thanks Tink and Jeff for the insights.

Jeff, that is sound advice. We get up to WDW several times per year. This is going to be our ten year anniversary, so I was trying to do something special and had the idea of booking us into the Grand Floridian for 1-2 nights post cruise as a surprise for my wife. The GF is her all time favorite hotel but we've never shelled out the cash (or had the cash to shell out?) to stay there. Maybe, budget willing, we can pull off the 7 nighter AND a night or two at the GF. Sounds like the 7 night cruise is the way to go.

We spent an hour or two this weekend on the Disney Cruiseline website poking around at the boat layouts and deck plans and it sure seemed like there was going to be quite a bit of stuff to cram into 3 or 4 nights.

    Thanks again for the tips!
