NYC trading afternoon - June 4th (new day)

MOUSE TRADERS is getting a group together to trade and talk all things vinyl. They will be meeting on Pedestrian Walkway in front of The Disney Store in Times Square - June 4, 2011 from 2-4pm.

I am a fan of MOUSE TRADERS on Facebook, and so I am not one of the organizers, but I wanted to get the word out about this event for NYC Tri-State fans.

I will update this thread as I get updates.

I live in Jersey City, but I will definitely try to attend this. I dont have much to trade. I actually dont have anything to trade as of right now, do have some cash though, if thats allowed

I don't usually get in to NYC until Sunday evenings, and I leave Thursday afternoons. To miss it by "that much" as Maxwell Smart would say, just makes me want to whine! It would be great fun to connect with other VM fans in person! I hope they schedule some trading afternoons in my area! Are these set up by some particular group, or just someone says, "Hey - I will be here to trade on this day..." and a bunch of people show up? Maybe I will start my own!

What are the "rules" for an informal trading event like this? Can people trade blind boxes? Are the cards/foils/boxes required? Where does the trading take place? Is there a table set up?

As far as I know.. there aren't any rules to a public meeting.
If people are interested in your blind boxes then they'll trade
Cards, foils and boxes aren't required but most of us are picky and would most likely not trade unless there is a card.
This will be taking place right in front of the Disney Store in Time Square.
There are tables there for public uses.

I've traded with this group before and I had so much fun. I am glad they moved the date because I think I can go to this one. If you are thinking about going you should. I got some great trades last time and met some really awesome people.

I'm glad people are excited to go. I'm a less excited about being outside with a huge crowd and all, but I'm going in with an open mind and a LOT of vinyls to trade. Hope people need some Park 6s.

I'll be bringing a whole bunch of 3" and possibly 1 9". I have 4 Disney Store bags in my closet full of them and I'm thinking I may have to bring a duffle bag type thing to fit them all. Under a week!!! Woooooooooooooo

It loads of fun. About 7-10 different traders. Most people helped each other out with their common stuff. There were a few chaser trades (pink elephant for dr. evil porkchop, abe lincoln for griffin), a lot of friendships were made, and we got some odd looks from the times square crowds. Good times, and already looking forward to doing it again soon.
