    Urban #1 El Super Raton

So I've been a collector for awhile, but recently started looking on eBay a few months ago to grab some of the older series vinyls. My very first vinylmation purchase at the parks was the Urban #1 El Super Raton (which honestly at the time I was not thrilled with). However over the months following and after I had started a decent collection, I began to really like the design compared to lots of the urban figure out there.
Anyway, I had been searching eBay for more older series and found out that El Super Raton was consistently selling for a great deal of money compared to other figures in the same series, and it's not even the chaser. I understand now that obviously some designs are more popular than others, but I was wondering if there was something specific about El Super Raton that made it more valuable? I'm not interested in selling it, just overall curious. Is it because of the artist? Or just because it's more popular? Is it portraying a specific Mexican wrestler that in not familiar with?

I think its higher value to due to both that it's Mickey (or pretty close to) and that most of the other Urban 1 figures are pretty bad. At least Raton is a unique design. Is there anyone who isn't a completist really pining for the Swiss Cheese or Graffiti or that terrible Pirates one?

Its the figure that got my 7 year old into collecting. He saw the El Raton shirt and had to have it and it has since snowballed into him having a collection of about 100 vinyls himself since December LOL.

K just making sure. Yeah most of urban 1 is nothing desirable. As I said before I was not thrilled at all when I bought that first vinyl, although I was quite familiar with the blind box idea. Looking back I'm not sure why I chose the urban #1 vinyl over a park #1 vinyl. Silly me, I guess I lucked out getting El Super Raton!

It is probably my single favorite all time vinyl, I think he is cool. My husband says it is because he reminds him of the old time Mighty Mouse.

Super Raton is one of the top 5 vinyls that I must add to my collection. But not at current ebay prices. ;)

This one has been popular for some time. With its really cool retro design, I don't see it dropping off in popularity any time soon.

One reason why I like this vinyl (and Oopsy) cause it adds to Mickey's character, and you can find later inspirations in Paint Drip, Super Mouse, Tin Mouse. With the design you could imagine Mickey being any of these characters in a cartoon. Very few Urbans catch my eye, and this is defiantly one of them.

i love el super raton! you can actually tell what it' trying to portray! unlike the other ones i had no idea what was going on. i had 2 graffiti's and ended up trading one this past weekend, i honestly couldn't of cared less. However, besides el super raton, i also really liked the three eyed monster! =]

It's also gaining value because more and more people are adding it to their collections and KEEPING it in their collections. Many other figures circulate several times on ebay, but from what I've seen, people buy the El Super Raton and won't let it go. This trend is what will of course continue to boost its value. Also, you have to consider that because it's from Urban 1, there is probably a good number of these figures that were lost or damaged when the Vinylmations were first released (from kids playing with them, etc.) which means there may have been less and less of them available over the years. Regardless, the dumb thing is out of my price range and I WANT IT REALLY BAD!!

I never thought about that regarding the possible damage/loss of the earlier series. Good point! I've really come to love this design. I think I was turned off by them all at first because I had been used to collecting Kidrobot Dunny's which all seem to have more of an "urban" artwork feel to them.

Oh how my heart flutters just by merely mentioning the name, I get shivers just typing it...
    El Super Raton.
Kodiakattack is absolutely right, when Urban #1 launched most of the buyers where just curious kids, so most are in "played with" condition, and not collector grade.
Based on Ebay prices I may never own this little wonder.
