We ABSOLUTELY need a 3rd series to get in the great Muppets Tonight characters like Sal Manilla and Johnny Fiama!

    My dream set:

    3":
    Reporter Kermit
    Dr. Bob
    Nurse Piggy
    Nurse Janice
    Sal Manilla
    Johnny Fiama
    Bobo
    Crazy Harry
    Walter
    Mahna Mahna
    Snowth
    Uncle Deadly

    9"
    Thog
    Carl the Big Angry Bunny
    Doglion

    9"/3" Combo:
    Sweetums & Robin

My main dislike for series 2 was the fact it had both Pigs in Space and Electric Mayhem, which I think was an attempt to make people buy the rest to form complete sets. Only one I really wanted was the penguin. I hope they decide to just release another Kermit (reporter, tux, Captain Smollet, etc) and Gonzo (daredevil ftw) in this mix. Too bad Vinylmation Sesame Street isn't possible, Cookie Monster would have been awesome...

I'm hoping for a 3rd muppet series cuz it is my favorite just behind star wars. I'm not really liking the new mold though.

Gonzo 9" is now available....though i didn't even see any notification about this (?).....also, there are a few Muppet Vision Kermit 9" and Animal 9" left in DL

Also, the Animal ear hat set is 25% off at D-Street

They should make a new series and release it when the new movie comes out. They seem to do that with other properties such as Toy Story, Tron, and Lion King (sets released during the dvd re-release).

They are currently working on Series 3, so I could see that as a possibility. Can't wait to see what will be included

If the mention of the series containing core characters in different outfits holds up, there are a lot of great potential ideas:

    The Great Gonzo
    Kermit as Phil
    Kermit as Rosenthal
    Fozziwig
    Nurse Piggy
    Statue of Liberty Piggy
    Rolf as Dr. Bob
Sam the Eagle as Samuel Arrow
Statler and Waldorf as Jacob and Robert Marley

As well characters that are more obscure and haven't been done yet. Lots of potential for this series!

Actually, I hate to say that they aren't, at least not right now. I asked Monty, the lead artist on the Muppets, while he was signing my Orange Bird Chaser about a 3rd Muppets series and he said while their will no doubt be another one later, they are taking a break from the Muppets for a while. They felt they released the first two series too close together and they don't want people to get tired of them. So we prbably won't see Muppets 3 untill 2013 or 2014.

Thank you for bumping this thread as with everything going on, I'd completely forgot I'd asked him about that.

AHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! (my kermit avatar is furious ) I swore I read that they were working on it, maybe just that he was thinking about it. That's too bad, but at least that will spread out some releases and help save money. Thanks Silvered!!

LOVE these ideas. Thog is one of my favorite characters. Just rewatched the episode with Harvey Korman as the ringmaster last night

I wish there was some of the first series circulating along with the second. I just didn't have too much interest with series two.

Oh, Monty is definitely thinking about it! If you want to have a good conversation with an artist, ask Monty about the Muppets. He LOVES them! And he definitely said he had a lot of characters in mind that they hadn't used yet that he wants to put in vinyl form. There are just other things to concentrate on right now but Muppets will most certainly return!

I think they need to go in a different direction for the next series maybe a smaller set of 6-8, but instead of blind boxes they do tins. An the idea of a 9' Jim Henson would be awesome.

That makes perfect sense! Why would they release a series themed around characters which are about to have a highly anticipated reboot movie hit the big screen? Marketing!

(I'm not at all bitter by this news )

lol, didn't realize 1 year apart was too close together....and this wouldn't have been a problem if they hadn't messed up so bad with muppets 2....they should have mixed in some more "desirable" characters for non-muppets fans too (gonzo, animal, another kermit maybe)

Um, Muppets 2 was awesome. The members of the Electric Mayhem are icons. There wasn't one bad figure in the whole series, which can't be said for Muppets 1, which had a few less-than-desirable characters.

I definitely wouldn't mind some window-boxed figures of ride-specific characters - the construction crew, maybe?

You can't have the muppets without Electric Mayhem!!! Series 1 is great, but I agree there were some mistakes made, namely no hat on Fozzie

They Definitely Pop when they are mixed with the series 1. We love them all. I am actually glad they are taking a break with them. So many things being released that I want in a short period of time we won't be able to keep up. So having to wait for a series 3 is better.

I'm so glad they are taking a break with the Muppets also. The Muppets are the one series (aside from SW, but that's hardly available, so I don't count it ) that my husband HAS to have, so we worry about collecting them all. Not having to worry about that for a few years is a-okay in my book.
