On an opposite note, I tried the pretzel hot dog from Bill & Min's and it was HORRIBLE!

1.) It was cold

2.) The hot dog was crunchy

3.) The hot dog was practically white


DISGUSTING.

It was white and crunchy because it's not actually what we'd traditionally call a hot dog. I was equally surprised, but Bill and Min's pretzel dog is actually closer to what folks in upstate New York would call a "white hot." It's just a variation on a frankfurter, but it is decidedly not the traditional American hot dog. They're still good, but I agree it can be off-putting to order one thing and get something close but not quite the same.

That said, I had a warm one, and it was perfectly fine (once you get over the initial shock ).

I haven't had the pleasure of dining at Brown Derby yet, but I did eat at Sci-Fi yesterday for the first time and it was fantastic! I had the butcher steak and paired with the unique setting it made for a great dinner.

that's the one item i haven't had there, i've had the sausage and the chicken caesar and both of those are always so good and a nice change from the usual park quick service fare.

I just wanted to chime in since our last trip, and we had a fantastic time at Sci-Fi Dine In (of course) and at the Hollywood Brown Derby! This is our first time at the Brown Derby, and it was amazing. We rushed inside when it started pouring, and everyone was leaving the park, so my boyfriend and I ended up having a romantic dinner in an uncrowded space! I got the steak, which was AMAZING, and he got the fish in a lobster sauce which was excellent. I got the grapefruit cake for desert, and I was disappointed. It was SO tart that it almost tasted like vomit, but he got a chocolate trio or something like that and it was divine! I would definitely go back there again, the atmosphere was wonderful!

Well at least they aren't making really disgusting hot dogs then! Still, I can't imagine eating a crunchy dog ever. I'll let you guys eat it all haha

Brown Derby has the best food but man are they proud of the prices. Sci-Fi and Mama's are fun places with decent food. Mama's was horrible the one time we went there and we havn't been back since

If you go to the Brown Derby you have to eat the cobb salad though man what a meal!

I'm not a huge fan of the restaurants in Hollywood Studios but I agree that the Cobb salad at Brown Derby is awesome! That being said, we rarely eat here because I don't want to use two table service credits and it's can be pricey paying out of pocket. We tend to eat at Mama Melrose and do the Fantasmic Dinner Package and I always find my meal (Penne alla Vodka) to pretty good! However, last time we were there (March 2011) the service was good/friendly but super slow!

I love 50s Prime Time. The servers really get into their jobs. The fried chicken was great!

i love pizza planet! only thing that would make it better is if they had a green alien claw machine =D

My wife and I love Mama Rosas. The Pizza and Ceasar salad is awesome !!!

Sci-Fi is #1, Prime time is a close seond

Prime Time is my first choice followed closely by Sci-Fi. Only because I love the pot roast at Prime Time

I love 50s Prime Time and Pizza Planet. The s'mores at 50's are to die for! Last time we went we sat at the bar and the bartender was hilarious!

My vote is for pizza planet, the cappucino cupcake is so good! Also love the carrot cake cookie at writers stop!

My girlfriend and I had the carrot cake cookie last time we were there! Wow! The creme is delicious!

fairly easy TS choice for me...50's Prime Time all the way! we enjoy Backlot Express for a quick counter service meal...partially b/c it's out of the hustle and bustle, and we never have a problem finding a place to sit back there...snacks are good no matter where you get them! but i voted for Starring Rolls.
