I was thinking about going, but in your opinion is it worth $50 a plate? If not, where do you suggest to eat at the magc kingdom? Will be a birthday so I want nice![]()

Unless I have a daughter some day that really wants to do it, I doubt I ever will. I'd rather have a nice meal over at the California Grill or somewhere like that if I'm going to spend that much per person.

If you're going to CRT for a character experience then I'd say go for lunch or breakfast. I've only eaten Lunch and Breakfast there myself and the food was... okay. The real appeal of the restaurant honestly is just the prestige of getting to say you dined in the castle.
For breakfast/lunch you are greeted by a gob of princesses and for dinner it's just Cindy, her rat friends, and Fairy Godmother. The only perk for getting dinner is watching the fireworks.
I agree with that, I went for dinner a few times and it was pretty nice but the food was just ok and really expensive for the quality IMO. I got a smoothie too and it came in a glass mug with the logo on it and you got to keep it, ill post a pic. of it if anyone wants to see it.

I'm eating in the Castle for dinner in a week and a half for my bday & it's been forever since I've eaten there so at this point in time, I dont remember what the food was like.
I only know you basically have to book 90 days in advance...at 7am in the morning.

wow panzee, some very nice pictures! especially the fireworks, very lucky to watch them from the castle

Thanks for the pictures panzee...Its been at least 25-30 years since I have actually eaten there, and not sure if it was called the same thing back in either 1977 or 1982. I don't remember much about the experience, except I was completely impressed at 5 or 10 years old with the pewter glasses they used to serve soda in. They don't do that anymore, but it definitely seemed like a more medieval experience back then. I have asked family if they have been interested during one of our visits, but we all have our other favorite restaurants for characters breakfasts we prefer to visit. One character breakfast we go to everytime usually is Crystal Palace, a lot cheaper than the price you will be paying for dinner at CRT. We love setting the dining reservation up for the earliest possible time so we can get into the park and look around before anyone comes in, and its a great photo opportunity in front of the castle with just a handful of people. Unfortunately, None of the lands are open yet so your pretty much stuck on Main Street USA.
The "experience" of dining in the castle is one of the most memorable things there is to do at WDW. I have to say I have two daughters so I'm a little biased, but being greeted by Cinderella in the lobby for a private photo op, then getting to climb those stairs into the castle and seeing that dining room for the first time is truly magical. The Fairy Godmother keeps the party going during the meal as she sings and leads everyone in songs and celebration. I have to say that years later I really don't remember how much it cost, but I will never forget the experience of having dinner in Cinderella's Castle. Go for it!!
You really have to ask yourself why you want to eat there - or what you want in a meal?
If you want amazing food - this is not the place for it. Try California Grill, or Citrico's or Narcoossee's.
If you want a fun character dinner with princesses - this is probably not the place for it. Yes, you will see Cinderella (and with the cost of admission you do get a photo - printed no less) but no one else during dinner besides some of the rats and godmother. In EPCOT there is Princess Storybook Dining at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall, which typically has ALL of the follow: Snow White, Jasmine, Mulan, Sleeping Beauty, Belle. It costs less, you also get a photo (with Sleeping Beauty), and there are more princesses - unfortunately no Cindy. There is also the cheaper 1900 Park Fare - Which does have Cinderella, and her evil step mother and step sisters, and the prince. This also costs less than CRT.
If you want to eat in the iconic Castle - this is the place for you. You probably don't care what it costs or what the food tastes like - it's all about the Magic!

My fiance and my parents ate at the Royal Table. It was really neat to be inside of the castle for once, with a really fun atmosphere. Unfortunately, the three of us that ordered the steak were terribly and coincidentally all sick the next day, while the other who had the salmon was just fine.... come to think of it, maybe we should have said something about it to them...
I ate there early this month and I thought the food was great. As some other people have mentioned, if you go at dinner you might be able to see the fireworks from your table, and that is pretty sweet. The whole show they put on for us was also very good and you got a little wand at the end for girls and a sword for boys to take with you afterwards! I thought it was well worth the price.
I go for dinner there every year and the food is nothing to write home about but I go just because for me it is not MK unless I have dinnerand take pictures there
We just ate there last week for dinner and it was OK. I did not think it was worth the 2 dining credits.

Breakfast at CRT is the best.Every time I go to the Magic Kingdom, I have to go there. I really wish Disneyland had something like that, but then again we have a walk-through.

Breakfast is wonderful. I enjoyed the food and we met all the Princesses. (No Rats though.)
I ate dinner there. It was absolutely amazing. In fact we saw someone propose, it was pretty great!
Was there for dinner in October, I thought to food was great and we had the best seat in the house in the middle of the room at the window. The waiter was great and it was a fun experience, def worth the 2 sitdown meals used for the dining plan!
We ate there a couple of years ago,we thought the food was ok.
The experience was great though meeting all the princess'
I really want to eat in the castle![]()
