Needing a new camera. Opinions appreciated.

Looking to get a new point and shoot. Owned a couple sonys before. and thought they were meh. Went out about 3 weeks ago and got a Canon Sd1400 in black. Loved it, got it for $150.00. Used it, got roughly 200 pictures, and dropped it. Its out of commission. Dropped it at disneyland of all places.

Which brings me to now. Gonna go get one soon, haven't decided brand but I love canon. Anyone have any suggestions or opinions on a good point and shoot. Just looking for something with good quality. Something I can get a warranty on that will cover me being clumsy with it.

My point and shoot is a Canon S90 and I love it. Takes great pictures and it's easy to use. I have no complaints.
Lots to choose from out there so take your time, do a little research and stop dropping your camera

I also have a Canon like yours but the older model, SD1200 IS in blue. Does not come close to the S90.
Nothing wrong with it really. Did I mention vinyls are not my only addiction

I like reading reviews before I buy:

I have a little sony camera, it's small, takes great pictures, i can wrap the string around my wrist so i dont drop it if we are on a ride
or in an area with water, i think i paid 150 or 160 for it, still working great. the kids have got several other brands and kinds over the past
few years, and they always want to borrow mine when they go on a trip. for just a simple point and shoot camera, i have had really good
    luck with it.

Nice. Yea, looking at some new canons for sure first. I think the biggest thing egging me on is I bought my camera for 150, fell in love. Went to get it again and its on sale for 200. Normally marked at 250. And best buy wont work with me on it at all.

Definetelly check out the reviews though. Hoping to get one, and an annual pass for DLR here in the next two months. So looking to save as much money as I can on the camera.

I go through cameras on a regular basis as I like to keep upgrading and keep up with tech as my job requires but one that I really liked was the Sony DSC-WX5. It was a smaller point and shoot, took great pictures, and had a lot of features for a little guy. It also had a really cool 3D panoramic feature which was awesome to look at. I'd recommend at least looking at it. I'm really not much of a Sony fan but I really liked that camera.

Same, my dad has a cybershot. But I'll definitely give that one a look.

For different costs, I have different recommendations:

    point and shoot: Canon S95

    point and shoot+ : Canon G12

DSLR Intro: Nikon D90 (You can find this guy for kinda cheap because it's been replaced) // Canon T2i

    DSLR Intermediate: Nikon D7000
