Yes - I got pics, just don't know to load from my phone. Lol
The Jabba's Hut store is a madhouse! Pics of the VMs when I get home! Surprisingly, they're not really moving at the moment.
More for us!
I saw him on the jumbo-tron! George Lucas and Bob Iger made an enterance as Jedi Knight fighting stormtroopers. So awesome!
Watch out. Disneyland! Darth Vader is heading for the Anahiem system
Here's our video from the Hyper Space Hoopla... It's totally different this year and I must say I think it's awesome!
I especially want to see it because at the preview, we talked to Oopla in the crowd and she was seriously the sweetest ever.
This is going to be my first visit during Star Tours, Hoping its really cool. Looking cool with that Video. Thanks for posting
We are going next weekend. Any tips on taking in SWW at DHS? Any merchandise I should keep an eye out for?
What time and day do you arrive?
Sounds like we won't be at DHS until Saturday....we've been priming the kids with Star Wars movies the last two weekends, and no, they don't know we're going....yet!
I'm going for the first time ever in 2 weeks (9-13). Any tips/suggestions/advise? I have no idea what really to expect and been reading mixed stuff about what time I need to get to to the park for celeb fastpasses...... but I have no idea what to believe or expect. Thoughts?
Much of the SWW festivities revolve around shows and character appearances. If you've never seen them, it's worth seeing the Behind the Scenes shows, and I'm personally a fan of the Stars of the Saga show, which is basically the celebrity guests for the weekend sitting down and chatting about their experiences. There are special shows geared to certain guests as well - Ray Park will do his martial arts show again this year (always popular with the younger set), and James Arnold Taylor has a one-man-band sort of show that shows off his many celebrity vocal impressions.
The parade is always worth seeing, as it's truly cool to see so many characters from the Star Wars universe together. Plus, members of Rebel Legion and 501st chapters from around the world march in the parade, shoring up the numbers.
For younger kids, there is the Padawan Mind Challenge trivia constest, held daily, and multiple opportunities to get in the Jedi Training show.
At 7:45pm, everyone will congregate at the Sorcerer's Hat stage for the Hyperspace Hoopla, the daily "closing ceremonies." It's an entertaining show, as you can probably guess from the above video and pics.
And of course, all throughout the day, there are wonderful photo ops with characters from the Star Wars universe. Characters will generally have their own zones, which are posted. There are also roaming characters - troopers - both Storm and Clone, and you can usually find Tusken Raiders, Gamorrean Guards, and Jawas based on the time of day. If you have a small trinket (can be anything - a pen, a plastic figurine, anything you can think of), you can barter a trade off the Jawas. It's pretty entertaining, but you don't always get a good deal. Obviously, don't go trading anything you might want back. Near the Great Movie Ride, you can meet with the Disney characters in their Star Wars best - Jedi Mickey, Leia Minnie, Darth Goofy, Stormtrooper Donald, and R2-MK. It's a great photo, but you can't always control who's there when you make it to the front of the line, so it can take a bit of waiting to get the characters you want.
For general tips, be advised that is hot in FL. Very hot. And there will be lines, most of which are outdoors. Wear sunscreen, and be sure to keep hydrated. Nothing ruins your day like heat exhaustion!
Hope you all have great visits!
