Yeah, you kinda just figure that would be a basic requirement here- where half the time you write and half the time you read!
Anyway, I think I'm understanding the reason for this rule today more than I did before, because it's ridiculous how many people find this site and figure "here's a bunch of people who will probably sell me the LE vinyls I couldn't get today" and join for solely that purpose. I mean, come on peoples, I understand your frustration completely but this isn't ebay!
Not only that, but the people that trade/sell might find people with over 15 posts with actual thought put into them my find them more trustworthy. Even 'trustworthy' might be too strong of a word but I think they'd be more hesitant to trade with someone who had 3 one-word posts. Personally I think the post count to trade/sell should be higher.
I think people think they can meet their post count by just saying "welcome" to all the new members but I can assure you that won't fly because I will delete every single post like that if it looks like that's what they're trying to do. The rule says your posts must be meaningful... as in they must contribute to the conversation at hand.![]()

I am sorry I actually was completely confused earlier in the day when I post a new thread. So oops! though now I am addicted to the forum so already over my 15 but not gonna stop now. I Love this!!!!
FYI, you can't go into every single new member's thread to say "welcome" just to meet your 15 post minimum so you can post in the Trading/Selling forum.
I've noticed some new members trying to be slick.![]()

I've noticed that too. Would it be possible to close/lock "Welcome" threads after a week or two? Just thought that might help cut back on this problem. I know in the past I've seen people welcome somebody who's been a member for a couple of months. I know I find it slightly annoying when I click on "New Posts" and get like four pages of welcome threads, most of which are old.![]()

Good idea! I think we are going to start doing that.

I wonder if it possible to put a time restriction on new members so that they have to wait a certain number of days to start a trading thread! I have noticed a few members who joined and wrote in about 3 or 4 different threads to meet the 15 minimum post rule then the same day or most likely the next day started a trading thread! Just seems a little weird to me!![]()

Maybe its time to put a time restriction on when people can start trading!![]()
