    Stinky Clears!

So I set my newly opened set of clears out 2 nights ago and they look great, but I noticed when I came home tonight that something smelled like a skunk around all my vinyl. For the most part I love the way the vinyl smells (like when I open up my cases.... I like to take a good whiff of them), but the clears just don't smell the same. I almost feel like putting them away until I can get a case for them because they are so stinky. Anyone else feel the same way about these bad boys?

I noticed the clears do, its probably because of the pure plastic material they're made of. I noticed the same with my DVC vinyl

Speaking of smell, yes I noticed the smell when I opened the clear vinyl I had ordered...and it also had a kind of white coating on it.....but it's nothing compared to the smell of the 9" NYC vinyl !!!! It smell like paint ! It's really awful when you first open it !

Yep, mine are pretty smelly too! Not sure what to do about it either because we've had them since they first came out a couple years ago and they still stink!

I do notice that... It gives me a headache. I have to open and inspect the vinyls as quick as I can then put them on a shelf for a while. The smell does fade, and I think that they are totally worth it.

The clears do smell unsusually strong. It's not the typical Vinylmation smell... it's much more dank. All my clears have also had a whitish powdery residue on them. It sort of looks like flour or dust.

I got mine from DS.com and they smelled horrible. I can remember opening them and thinking the fumes were probably toxic! Another batch I ordered when they went on sale didn't smell as bad. I am wondering if it is a certain place they store some of them.

Yes, the clears definitely smell more. Probably because they are not covered with a coat of paint...nothing to impede the smell.

Just found this thread and it made me laugh out loud! I got my first clears when they went on sale at DS.com and the smell was super overwhelming! Skunky is a good word for it, definitely!
