"CALIFORNIA" Entrance Letters to be removed - starting Jan 4

being a tourist trying to see what DCA is like right now... You would think that it would look more of a mess then an actual theme park lol

Yeah there were a lot of people who were confused when I was there, they kept asking where California Adventures was!

Yeah pretty sad to walk and see it gone, but I know Disney will top itself with what they've got planned

It was so sad when I went there last week and didn't see the letters. I'm also really going to miss the music they had in DCA as well. =(

I never really thought all that much of the letters until they were gone. Hopefully they will be able to find another place for them to still be used

I am actually REALLY SAD about this. I have seen the pictures of what it is going to look like after they take them down and it is going to look lots like the entrance to Hollywood Studios in Flordia... bummer! I loved the letters and the "Postcard" feel that they were going for before. oh well...

We were at Disneyland last month trying to see them one last time but to our sadness they were in the process of taking them down. I actually like the sign especially at Holiday time, they will be missed.

So I've got a question and this thread seems like a good place to ask it. Is the current entrance the permanent look for DCA? I know that soon the walls behind it will come down, but the actual entrance just seems uninspired to me. We went in march. It was my first time since mid-2007.the letters and the bridge made me want to explore the park. The current entrance... Makes me want to go home.

I believe it's the permanent look for DCA. It looks OK, but the C-A-L-I-F-O-R-N-I-A letters and Golden Gate Bridge Monorail Track made it look really good a couple of years ago.
