    Manny Pacquiao

Anybody get a chance to see the Pacquiao/Margarito fight last night? That was just brutal. Margarito didn't stand a chance. Maybe that'll teach him not to make fun of Freddy Roach's Parkinson's Disease again.

I wonder if Manny will retire or wait for Mayweather to summon the courage to give us the fight everyone's waiting for.

Mayweather and Manny must fight. They can't end their careers like that.

Watched the fight last night! Was pulling for Margarito! Manny was just to fast and quick for him. Margarito's face didn't look good at all!

I watched the fight on Sat. and let me tell you, the fight was awesome. Of course I was pulling for my fellow Filipino, Manny 'Pacman' Pacquiao. Margarito is a good figther with lots of heart. The fight almost didn't happen at first because of some problems on both sides, Margarito's side was complaining that they didn't see how the padding on one of the finger was padded which the official said that he saw it and it was a good wrap. Then on Pacquiao's side, Margarito drank water with a powder substance that was caught on camera being put in (I forgot the name of the substance).
Anyways, Manny was asking and telling the ref to stop the fight during the 11th round. Manny stated at the interview, "I was asking the ref to stop the fight because he didn't want to do any permanent damage on him." Someone reported the the crowd was actually telling the ref to stop the fight already. If you saw Margarito's wife facial reaction from I think it was the 9th round (she was smiling) but after the 11th, she was worried and concerned. Manny stated that he was holding back his punches during the 12th round but still had to punch Margarito for the points. Let me tell you, not because I'm his fellow Filipino, but I've never seen any fighter with so much compassion for his opponent. The announcers was so impress with Manny's performance and his compassion. They all knew that Manny was holding back. Manny did mention also that he got hurt on a couple of punches from Margarito, 17lbs more than Pacquiao. Margarito went to the hospital after the fight for a surgery on his broken orbital bone. Personally, Margarito's corner should have stopped the fight.
Personally, I think Manny should retire because he has nothing else to prove. Like what the announcer said, there is no one else for him to fight. Pacquiao asked his mother's if he could fight one more fight after he fought Clotty to try and get something going on with Mayweather but Mayweather, my personal opinion, doesn't really wanna fight Pacquiao. A lot of sports announcer around the world feels the same way. Now, if Mayweather, like what the boxer annalyst stated after the fight, is waiting for The Pacman to start slowing down before he fights him, come on now. Why not fight him at his prime? Afraid? My personal message to Manny, "Manny, you can retire. You've made our country proud and you have nothing else to prove to anyone."
"Bravo, Bravo. An extraordinary performance. And thank you for entertaining my victim."

Yeah, Margarito's corner could have possibly ruined his career by not stopping the fight. I give Margarito credit for having the heart to stay and fight, but he really should have just quit after the 10th. Manny was just using him as a punching bag at that point. Overall it was a great fight - much better than the last horrendously boring fight against Clottey. I still put the Ricky Hatton fight as my favorite Pacquiao fight, but this one comes pretty close.

I agree, Manny should retire. He's made millions, has become a national legend in the Phillippines and has a new career as a congressman. I'd love to see him put Mayweather in his place, but Mayweather's too chicken to risk losing his perfect record and may be facing some jail time too. Personally, I don't think Mayweather even deserves the opportunity to fight Pacquiao, especially after his racist rant.

although Manny has done so much for boxing, i still would love to seem him fight atleast 2 more times. One against Shane Mosley and then when he destroys him, finally maybe Mayweather will step up to the plate. that will be the best way for Manny to go out. Manny will make $50+ million if he fights mayweather. maybe even more.

watched the whole fight, didn't even notice. looked it up just now, wow what a cheater. lmao telling everyone after the fight that it was highway robbery. . if pacquiao would have lost, he would have given marquez his props AND CONTINUE SMILING. manny is just a humble, awesome all-around dude who is just TOOO NICE. imagine if he didn't focus on Congress in the Philippines and was nasty in the ring, IMHO i love him the way he is and the way he has been. just amazing inside and out.

Not sure how Manny's going to do this time around. Maybe he'll fare better than he did against Marquez. At least he won't have marital issues like he did before that fight - sleeping around isn't going to make the wife happy:

I know - I didn't watch the fight, but I was pretty shocked when I heard the results. Manny's head was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. I hope he can bounce back after this.

That being said, it is awfully suspicious that Marquez was noticeably in the best shape of his life... at the age of 39. It's not like he was a contestant for the biggest loser and suddenly became fit. This is a guy who has spent his whole life keeping himself in elite shape for boxing. The same could be said of Pacquiao in the past too, but in this particular case it seems too obvious.
