Thanks for the info!! Will anyone else be around during the weekend?
We will miss you by a week! We're leaving here to head out to WDW on the 6th. Hope you have a blast and don't forget to pick up some of those exclusive figs that they are releasing on the 8th =)
Have a great and amazing time at WDW my vinyl friend!!!
Make sure you visit some of the Disney Resorts to check the Hollidays decorations if you have the time.

Speaking as a local, it's kind of hard to think of a weekend when I'm not potentially visiting one of the parks.
Great tips, above, though. The Osborne Spectacle of Dancing Lights will officially start on Nov. 8 (most of the lights have been up since the beginning of October, but they were only lit for guests during the Wine and Dine Half Marathon), and they're a can't-miss holiday event. I'm a Christmas-lights guy, and I'm amazed every year. Plus, it usually "snows." Further in Studios, you may want to check out Block Party Bash, as it's winding down until the final performance on New Year's Day. Note: if you don't catch a Nerf ball during the show, follow the parade all the way to the end for the "secret" dance number. When the gates close, be ready - there will be Nerf balls.
It's hard to say if the resorts will all have their displays up by then (historically, the third week of November is when they go up, but it's not set in stone), but if they do, I'd highly recommend checking them out. All of the resorts usually do something, but if you're strapped for time, focus mainly on seeing the gingerbread house in the Grand Floridian. Do buy a shingle; they're delicious. Also, you'll want to see the gingerbread carousel in the Beach Club. Again, get a cookie.
MVMCP is awesome. Even if you're not into the shows, the lines are practically nonexistent for the rides, and when else can you get free cookies and hot chocolate at Disney?
Epcot won't have Holidays Around the World going on that weekend, but they might have the decorations up around the park. They also build a life-size gingerbread shack inside the Liberty Inn adjacent to The American Adventure, although, again, it's hard to say if it will be up in time.
Downtown Disney will also be decorated, and it might be worth visiting on Nov. 19th, say around 5pm, outside the World of Disney. That would be when Santa officially arrives for the season.
Hope you have a great trip!
Thanks for all the info Phylers! I too will be there during that time frame. Ive been researching what is going on then but I had no idea about the gingerbread houses in the resorts! Sounds really cool I am definitely making a side trip to check them out now.

No worries! I'm glad to help!
I also failed to note that everyone should visit the Magic Kingdom to see the nightly illumination of the Castle Dream Lights. The whole thing is so cool that it requires a full three-drawn-out-syllable a-maz-ing. Even if you don't buy into the whole idea of "Disney Magic," it will melt your heart and blow your mind. And, the best part? It's included in your regular admission (so you don't have to be attending MVMCP to see it)!
Can you tell that I really love the holiday stuff at the parks?![]()

Should be! Sunset will be about 5:30pm starting next week (return from Daylight Savings this weekend; yay!), and the show's always been 6pm in years past.
It is definitely cool seeing it "snow" on Main Street! They also have it "snow" on the main drag through Celebration (the Disney-owned town) every afternoon from Black Friday through New Years Day.
It's not as cool as being in a park, but walking through Celebration is certainly an experience. There are even fallen "leaves" strewn about, which seems odd until you pick one up and realize that they're fake leaves that Disney has strewn about. I imagine it's a little like living in The Truman Show.![]()
