Awesome pictures! And the queue looks awful. That is going to be a nightmare.
Wow i cant wait even more now. That que looks like a nightmare, im happy now i have season passes though. Thanks for the update!!![]()
Well the attraction itself really has no theme, so I'm not that surprised the queue has no themeing. It's unfortunate, but not surprising.
If you go to the website, the ride kinda does have a theme, and there's tv's in the lines so there must be some theme, or there gonna be there for music video's and ride warnings.
I don't really buy the "theme" they're trying to put on it. When it comes down to it all it is is a coaster with a soundtrack. Which is fine because I don't think Universal is really about telling a story with everything. So it works for them.
Oh My Goodness. I'm praying it will be open by the 8th or 9th because that is when I'm going.
Honestly a theme would be stupid, but hopefully in the next couple weeks the ride will be on preview, from the new pic updates from orlando rocks everything is looking good, but looks can be deceiving especially when it was testing a couple weeks ago and now it hasnt tested in forever. lol
i like the music but hate the theme even though it has something to do with production central universal did a terrible job of oranizing the theme for it andswicthbacks to me the q looks nice expect for switchbacks it feels im going to be waiting in the simpsons ride again

I'm going to try and not be a "Debbie Downer", but am the only one who has come to the conclusion that this ride just does NOT fit the Studios?
It is themed to music, which has no relation to movies, and is in a movie themed park... I just think it is odd and off; and although the coaster is awesome looking and sure to amaze, it seems they just added, Hollywood , on the front of the ride name to TRY and make it fit in.
If someone wants to please correct me, or put me in my place please do, because I am utterly confused.![]()

I gotta agree with Justin that this ride has no place being in USF. I think we can all agree on that though.
What really "annoys" me, is how interested and sometimes biased people are towards this ride. We have a brand new and original coaster down the road called Manta and it hasn't gotten nearly enough attention. The ride is fantastic, looks fantastic and a flying coaster is very hard to come by. The majority of people online showed interest in Manta for maybe a week after it opened, and now you don't really hear anything about it.
HRRR is not really anything new. Sure the inverted loop is original, but that's not really a big deal. Compare the inverted loop to a pretzel loop and the pretzel loop should definitely win the argument. The idea of on-board audio has been done, now we just get to pick the song we hear.Video, I admit, is a little interesting, but when it's on a mediocre ride (which is exactly what this is looking to be) it doesn't really matter.
The ride looks so temporary to me. The BMG side looks fantastic, but the rest looks very bad. Especially the queue, which will be a nightmare.
I'm excited for this ride, but I really don't understand the hype. I'm sure it will be fun, but I really don't expect it to be anything amazing. Manta is proven amazing and deserves more recognition.

Why did they give the ride a vertical lift but not a vertical drop? That just doesn't make any sense...
It seems like the majority of the thrill would of been in a near vertical drop, not lift. That is going to be an uncomfortable E-Stop! I also understand they were trying to save space, but it seems half a$$ed.Ok, now I'm being biased...

justin you are right universal did a really bad job with the theme i mean music is form of production since its in production central but you need a coaster for this it could have been themed to stunt drivers at the least but its just not a orignal product that universal used to making universal have some problems ever the rethemed earthquake.
slegde i also agree wih you even though i find a lot of updates and nonsense about it the coaster is overhyped but that's because of al of this tech that being put into in tthe ride which is cool but the rest of the theme just doesn't flow wit the ride. it maybe fun but HRRR just universal attraction but for riding it oh boy that's a new coaster credit![]()

Let's be fair here. Manta is nothing new. It is a solid fun ride but another B&M flying cookie-cutter. I was more impressed by the queue than the ride itself. Again, it is not a bad ride at all, but it has been done.
Just because HRRR is not themed after movies doesn't mean it goes against the studio theme. It fits the theme of the Plaza Stage and music area perfectly. When it screams by at night during a concert with the lights "dancing" on the car, you'll know you're seeing something unique. It has many original elements and concepts and shouldn't be "hated" on.
And to the people that say Manta receives no love, it got covered by every major news group in Central Florida like crazy. This is how things work:
1) Ride is announced...a buzz is in the air and on the message boards.
2) Ride is about to open...Everyone is excited and anticipating
3) Ride opens...a grand affair for everyone
4) Two weeks later...no one cares. Something else will be opening somewhere else soon.
That's how it works. Sea World got all their love. The ride is open, it is great, but the buzz is all for HRRR. And when it opens, everyone will be paying 100% attention to Harry Potter and forget HRRR exists. Hardcore park fans like us love the rides and will talk about them forever. The media is looking for its next "swine flu" (something they latch onto for a week before moving on to something else newsworthy.) That's my 2 cents.

I think the fact that its the first flyer in Florida is kind of big being that we're supposed to be like the theme park capital and we still didn't have one.
Manta was the first flyer I had ever been on, but I do agree that the queue was better than the actual ride. The pretzel loop makes me sick.![]()
Just to put my opinion in there, I actually like the idea of HRRR. A agree completely with acsdisney. I think that lots of people who arn't theme park buffs kind of overlook universal in a way since you don't see a coaster and then you look over at IOA and you see Hulk and Doctor Doom and Dueling Dragons and such. This would kinda draw more people into the studios and then they would experience the amazingness that is Universal Studios from all the themeing to some of the less rollercoaster but more unique rides. I think that it fits perfectly with the production theme and the stage, and it even kinda fits with Blue men group.
But, that is just my 2 cents worth.
I have to agree with acsdisney that music fits with the studios aspect of Universal. Although Universal did not to as good a job with the music theme as Disney who made an entire recording studio theme which then makes a nice transition into a coaster setting. I think that the music video part of the Rockit really is the only thing that ties this into the studios. Also the line looks endless. Even the Hulk has a weird machine thingy in the line, this is just going on and on and on with nothing.
Wow im gonna try and stay in between here. I havnt been on manta but it is just another flyer, and from all the photo's the line is beautiful but now that it has been out, its old news and will be. Same thing goes for HRRR, its gonna be amazing until its out for 2 weeks, then for the rest of the year everyone will be waiting for Mr. Potter. Or until disney finally announces something, which im praying for.
