I saw it in IMAX 3D for a fan preview and I thought it was an absolutely amazing movie! As a disclaimer though: I am a big Star Trek fan and it doesn't really take much to please me.

Anyway, this movie, I think, is GREAT for both Trek vets, noobs, and non-trek fans. The storyline is action-packed, funny, and easy to understand yet includes a TON of things for us vets to enjoy.

I'm really happy with the way JJ Abrams has tailored this series to appeal to a wider range of audiences, which is what's needed to keep life in the franchise. Some Trekkies are disappointed in the direction but again, this type of treatment is exactly what it needs to survive!
